Pre-season talk

Postby Doobie on Mon Oct 04, 2010 6:14 am

Well the NBA pre-season kicked off today with the Knicks defeating Olimpia Milano by a score of 125-113... Once again proving that this team can't play defense, and there only chance of winning is by outscoring the opponent. Stoudemire had 32 and Gallinari had 24 for the Knicks.

Another thing to note was 27 turnovers by The Knicks, which is bound to happen to many teams in the pre-season, but that number has to improve.

The nets play macabi later on tonight.

jesus the knicks looked terrible. they shouldve won by 30+ pts and they played their starters more than a usual preseason game too. personally i tuned in to see Anthony Randolph, only to be disappointed.

Yeah, its good to see Morrison back and get a chance to play. I'm hoping to see him as a backup small forward or a back up shooting gaurd because he hasn't had a chance to play in a long while. Lakers never used him as far as i know, I'm looking forward to seeing Anthony Randolph with the knicks. Because i've never seen him play and i would like to know why that David Lee trade happend. Hopefully Adam Morrison will be a better player this year.

Morrison isn't going to be a better player. He is just going to get a better opportunity. He didn't play in LA because of the depth there and not the fact that he is not talented. Even Kobe defended his teammate by saying, 'the thing people don't get is that Adam can ball.'

Anyway, I'm happy that he got a shot with a team. At one stage, it looked like Boston was interested in him.

As for the Lakers, nice work being beaten by 20 by the Wolves. :x Can't wait for them to play Barcelona. Ricky Rubio should be playing that game.

because he was leaving via free agency so NY figured they might as well get some good players in return

and Minnesota looked solid at times. Beasley (Y), Darko (Y), Martell Webster (Y), ODOM (Y), your boy Sasha (N) as usual.

Loved the opening to that game. "Kobe Bryant is the highest-selling jersey in Europe. That proves that he's the best player in the NBA." Uh, no. It does not.

Pistons-Heat tonight. Most anticipated preseason game of all time?

It'll be nice to see James-Wade-Bosh for five minutes to open the game, then everyone gets the real enjoyment of watching Austin Daye battle it out with James Jones.

nah the big matchup is mario chalmers vs the pistons 16th man. i don't see chalmers winning that battle.
and i don't see how mike miller won't get at least 3 wide-open 3s every game.

Still a bad sign three minutes in though. May be wishful thinking, but I'd love to see Wade blow out his knee. (Heat would probably still win 60+ games anyway)

Blazers destroyed the Clippers. Smalldridge did his usual rich man's David West in the first half, poor man's David West in the second half routine, Roy had an off game and Wes Matthews played great. Its only one game, but after this and training camp, Matthews has really grown on me. Really think we should deal Rudy for a first rounder and/or 4th Center.

I'd say the reason Rudy's even getting minutes is to try and get rid of him. Playing like he did today is going to make that a lot easier.

Cousins with 16/16, pretty great start.

I think he'll hit the rookie wall fairly hard, but I think Cousins will ultimately be the best player of the draft. (Wall's debut was arguably better but whatevs)
