The New York Knicks will offer Danilo Gallinari, Eddy Curry and a future first-round draft pick for Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony, the team’s flagship radio station reported.
Anthony, a National Basketball Association All-Star who averaged 28.2 points per game last season, is trying to force his way out of Denver, where he has a year remaining on his contract, ESPN reported today. ESPN 1050, the network’s New York radio station, said the Knicks’ potential offer involves Gallinari and Curry’s expiring $11.3 million contract.
Gallinari averaged 15.1 points per game during his second season with the Knicks. Curry has battled injuries and weight issues during his five seasons with the Knicks, appearing in 10 games over the past two years.
The Knicks, who signed All-Star forward Amar’e Stoudemire to a five-year, $100 million contract last month, went 29-53 last season and haven’t made the playoffs the last six seasons.
Knicks spokesman Nick Brown declined to comment on the report.
Would be a shitty trade for Denver if it really happened.
