Can't say I'm too familiar with him, but still sad to see anybody take their own life.

Mel Turpin, former Kentucky center and 6th overall pick of the 1984 NBA Draft by the Washington Bullets, was found dead in Lexington on Thursday of an apparent suicide.

RealGM Note: Turpin was initially traded by the Bullets to the Cavaliers, though he eventually ended his career in Washington after a stint with the Jazz.

Unless I'm confusing him with someone else, he's the player that MJ dunked over in Utah after a fan jeered him for dunking on the smaller Stockton, leading to MJ's "Is he big enough for you?" retort.

That's a shame, clearly he had some issues that just wouldn't leave him alone. RIP.
