Americans in power want to make it seem like weed is worse than alcohol or smoking. While both of those kill more people than toting a joint.

It's about telling people what to do and making them feel intimidated. As far as I can see.

It certainly sounds like there are bigger issues.

Beasley’s admission to the center comes as a handful of disturbing Twitter posts were recently attributed to him.

“Y do I feel like the whole world is against me…I can’t win for losin,” Beasley wrote.

“Feelin like it’s not worth livin!!!!!!! I’m done.”

Beasley has been a target of criticism inside and outside the organization for his immaturity. From team president Pat Riley to superstar Dwyane Wade(notes), the Heat have been frustrated with Beasley’s clownish attitude and personal decisions.

If he is troubled and struggling with some psychological issues, hopefully he'll get the help he needs to find some peace and perspective.

I think i's great they didn't let this develop any further. I wish the best to Beasley, his family, and the heat franchise. Hopefully he can get his career on track and be the great player he's meant to be.

Damn - seems like Beasley is a bit of a loose cannon. I feel sorry for the Heat.

I don't think it's the weed that's the problem. Seems like his perceptions of the world are completely skewed. Poor guy.

It's this kind of thing that makes a NBA scout's job difficult.

I hope his rehab will change him and his mindset. He can be quite a player if he can turn the corner.

The last few posts he made on his now deleted Twitter account were really bizarre.

"Y do I feel like the whole world is against me!!!!!!! Back on my FTW!!!!! I can't win for losin!!!!!!!!!!"

"Feelin like it's not worth livin!!!!!!! I'm done"

"not feelin this at all!!!!!"

I hope he gets his act together for the season. He was supposed to have a breakout season. :P

Michael Beasley's stay in rahab was planned

that he was scheduled for weeks to attend the Houston-area rehab clinic. This stems back to Beasley's violation during last summers rookie transition program.

Fair enough. In any case, here's hoping he has his head on straight this season, for his sake and Miami's.

That too, it would be sad to see him become another Eddie Griffin. The comparison may be premature and ill-fitting at the moment, but if the guy does have some issues hopefully he gets whatever help he needs before he self-destructs.

wait......WUT?
That does not make sense
To leave an addict behind and not help them get treatment is the worst thing you can do
I applaud the Heat organization for trying to help Beasley from becoming an "Eddie Griffin"

I couldn't disagree more. I think it's noble of the NBA to encourage players to get help and allow sad cases to be cautionary examples at the same time.

I meant more like this. NBA should give those guys league ban for 1-2 years, what means regular blood testing. Then they can be sure that one doesn't fall again. We have a good example on former(?) NFL player(i don't remember his name) who had social phobia or something and he did pot or something. He cheated all the time.
Of course they must help addict if they can. My earlier post sounded harsh but i didn't mean anything bad.

Well, sometimes they do get barred from playing in the NBA. Chris Anderson is a recent example, Roy Tarpley and Michael Ray Richardson are two historical ones.
