Shaq or Dwight howard for orlando

Who do you all think was the better big man for orlando? They both can basically do the same thing, and who was and or is more athletic at the age that dwight howard is now? Shaq helped the magic to the finals in the 90's, howard hasn't been able to help orlando get past detroit yet, although this could be the year orlando might make the eastern conference finals. Who do you think is the better scorer, rebounder and blocker? Plus which magic team is better, the 94/95 team? Or the 08/09 magic?

Shaq had better numbers on offense. If I'm not wrong, he averaged 25 points in is ROOKIE campaign

Despite Shaq's inconsistency these past few seasons, it's undeniable that he's the best modern center and one of the best centers all time to play the game. Dwight Howard has to compete with that legacy, although if you consider that Shaq was already an experienced and seasoned "veteran" with several years of college basketball under the belt then you can cut Dwight some slack.

Howard is easily the superior rebounder and defender, but Shaq was better at everything else.

The more interesting question posed, and the one everyone ignored, is this one:

And it's probably this one. (Best point differential, best win %, etc.) The 1995 Magic had a better five, but that's all they had. 1996 if healthy is probably the true best team, but there's also this team healthy...

I too think you've got to give it to Shaq at this point but long term Howard could well prove to have the biggest impact for the Magic, since he's already signed an extension that should keep him in Orlando for several years yet and Shaq of course left for the Lakers after his fourth year with the Magic.

Kind of true in a way, i just made this thread because i'm also a magic fan. Plus i actually in all honesty really don't know, because we moved to florida around 94, and i didn't even know shaq was on the the team. I never even heard of shaq.

The most memorable team for me is the 94-95 team, although i don't know when shaq came in the league. Probably should've done some research, just thought it'd be an interesting thread.
