We should just make a coach's fired thread. jesus christ. Can't find an article on it yet but just saw it on the bottom of ESPN.

Phil Jackson will get fired if Lakers lose another game.

The Kings are the second team to make a coaching change immediately after losing to New York. Washington dismissed Jordan on Nov. 24 after a loss at Madison Square Garden.

I still don't get why Teams are so quick to fire their coaches, especially bad teams like the Kings ... Do they really expect to get significantly better this season with a new coach or some assistant promoted to interim head coach?

I don't think they're expecting to get significantly better straight away but the basic principle in most cases is that it's the right step "moving forward" in which case Jeff Van Gundy's point about bothering to start the season which a coach you don't believe in is a good question. Part of it is the coach taking the fall for an underachieving team but presumably the front office also believes the coach wouldn't be able to get the job done in the best of circumstances and as such as the firing is a long time coming, the current struggles being a convenient time to pull the trigger.

Theus becomes the sixth coach to get the axe in less than a month. You wonder if we'll see a third of the league replace their coaches before we hit the midway point of the season.
