Darko Back To Europe???

Postby Clueminati017 on Tue Dec 02, 2008 12:35 pm

Grizzlies center Darko Milicic, who was beaten out for the starting job by newcomer Marc Gasol, said he could return to Europe when he becomes a free agent in the summer of 2010. "The only way to be me is in Europe," he said. Milicic said he's been incorrectly typecast as a defensive player. In truth, he said he's a scorer. -- Cleveland News-Herald

Either there's fanfare going on, or he's basically upset that his starting job was taken away from Pau's brother. Maybe that'll give the Grizzlies a chance to bring back Haddadi as the number two backup.

If that's how it goes down, so be it. He'll probably take the obligatory parting shots at the NBA if he does go back to Europe in 2010, claiming he was underappreciated and too good for the league.

well he sounded like a 2nd overall pick on paper

7ft tall PF/C
18years old
Plenty of potential
Decent jumper
Prolific shot blocker (well, used to be)
Decent Rebounder
Edit: And Athletic

on NBA Live/2K...i would definitely draft someone like that....i actually loved Darko...when he was in Detroit and in Orlando...his stats weren't that bad....he's better than Kwame....is he?

What the deus!? I didn't watch the game so I don't know if the referees really deserve all those words but the kid daughter? What's with that. No wonder this guy's a loser. Mentally ill.

That sounds more likely. Either way, he's a lazy douche.

I can't believe how people can forget Chris Bosh....in hindsight, Chris Bosh is a gimme at #2, especially considering the Pistons were after more talent & depth at the 4 & 5 positions....

I'm going to have to re-visit my re-drafts after I get this blasted exam out of the way....in this re-draft, I would stick with my ordering of Lebron, Bosh, Melo & Wade in top 4 picks, but the question is, do Miami still grab Hinrich....I'd say so, but will have to re-investigate who else was available at that spot....next week though :P

Yes. Darko's game actually improved a little bit when he was in Orlando before he got traded to Memphis. Although, his mishaps on being a hype still sticks out where Joe should've picked Melo or Wade. His stats is a little bit better than Kwame. See he's a first round mistake, but Kwame on the other hand is your Pervis Ellison that's stuck around in the NBA.

I still stand by Chris Bosh being the "real" number 2 pick....as for Nervous Pervis, you shouldn't downgrade him, yes, he was a bust, but at least he had 2 good seasons with the Bullets (20.0ppg, 11.2rpg & 2.7bpg in '91/92 & 17.4ppg, 8.8rpg & 2.2bpg in '92/93)....Darko & Kwame can never say such things about their NBA careers

Any other pick in the 2003 Draft, and Pistons don't win the 2004 championship.

And this is all irrelevant counter-factual history anyway. Maybe Anthony flames out of the league coming off the bench? Where does Wade go as a third guard? (Prove they couldn't.) What if Darko lands somewhere he can start from day one, and is respected by the coach instead of being hated for where he was born?
Kwame on the other hand is your Pervis Ellison that's stuck around in the NBA.

Kwame's a guy who had a 20/11 season but then whose career was destroyed by injuries? Kwame normal is like Ellison in his "injured toe while moving furniture" days.

true, as if they draft Bosh, they in all likelihood wouldn't have traded for a high risk, high reward player like Rasheed Wallace....

That's still not a ringing endorsement of Darko if the best that can be said about him is that he didn't cost the Pistons the championship in 2004. Considering he was supposed to be a player who emerged as the older Pistons declined, a great big man in waiting, he's still turned out to be a disappointment. It certainly didn't cost the Pistons at the time though.
