WALSH CUTS A DEAL FOR AN OLD FAVORITE

HARR'S THE DEAL: Knicks sources said the team will acquire disgruntled Warriors forward Al Harrington today.

Donnie Walsh is set to pull the trigger on his first substantive move as Knicks president, The New York Post has learned.

Knicks sources said a deal for Al Harrington was to go through late yesterday, but was delayed until today. A league conference call is scheduled for this morning that would bring the disgruntled Warriors forward to the Knicks, presumably for Malik Rose.

And it's on RealGM, but it's that peter Vescey guy reporting it, so who knows, lol.

Malik Rose? I dunno, but financial wise, I think its good.

Looks like its going to be Crawford for Harrington.

But it seems it´s not just Crawford, whose going to be traded by Knicks tonight, Randolph is looking way out, Clippers looks to be the most likely place of destination, Dallas is also opportunity.

I don't understand NY, never will I guess. That trade doesn't make any sense to me, Harrington is exactly the type of player that they don't need. Not that Crawford could have been the franchise savior, but things were starting to look not so bad after 10 games or so, at least more promising than they used to...

It's all about undoing Zeke's bad contracts and clearing cap space for 2010. I hear Zach might be going to Dallas.

Walsh will be on with Mike Francesca at 4pm(EST) to discuss the state of the Knicks. Go to wfan.com

Exactly my thoughts. We have like 45 forwards on the roster and not a single decent guard or center, and what do we do? We trade what could be our only good guard for yet another forward, then we give in the closest thing to a center we have and all of this for what? To clear up cap space to get yet another forward in 2010 (LeBron.)

Mike Francesca just reported Zach Randolph to the Clips for Mobley and Tim Thomas.

Al for Jamal sounds ok to me although I think Jamal's a better player.
Obviously the Knicks wants to get rid of Randolph at some point during this season, so why not land Harrington for the replacement purpose.

Yeah, just get rid of all the headaches!!!

Well, with Al Harrington now in the house, I'm not sure that will happen anytime soon....

You know Zeke never would've made a move like this. Not even in a million years. I'm kind of upset that we atleast didn't get a 2nd round pick or anything out of this, but we atleast got out of Zach's major contract.

Zeke was incompetent, just like Layden. Finally, we have a dude in charge who's rebuilding the right way.

It's a lateral move for the moment but it could obviously mean big things come 2010 with all the cap room they're going to have. Harrington could be gone as soon as this coming offseason if he opts out, if not he'll be gone the year after, in time for the LeBron James sweepstakes.
