NUGGETS squad in 2003-2004

Nene made some great strides this past season. yarbrough & rodney white started to show some promise towards the end of the season. harvey was surprisingly decent as well. i don't know about this 'skita' guy though. but i heard he has some good skills for his size. all these guys need time on the court to develop

most likely howard will test the FA market so the nuggs will have cap to pursue a top FA. would a top FA want to go to the Nuggs? Quite possibly Arenas, but that's just speculation.

the draft should net them a good player. if they are lucky enough to get the first pick, lebron James seems the likely choice. he would fill in the teams need of a pg/sg.

if they pick 2nd, i'm not sure who they should pick (assuming james get picked 1st). from the ealry mock drafts i've seen darko is listed at pick no. 2. Denver already has a similar player in 'Skita'. would it make sense to pick a player who plays the same position (and would also be a project) as 'Skita'?? i would go with anthony...

this team could be pretty decent if nene & and the other youngsters contine to improve, they get james, and camby remains healthy (might be asking for the impossible on that one)
any thoughts about this future powerhouse?

The Clippers are probably stupid enough to let Brand walk, so there's a possibility he could end up in Denver. That's a more than adequate replacement for Juwan Howard, who probably won't return (and if he doesn't, it won't be for as much money as what he's been getting since 1996).

If Golden State fail to re-sign Arenas, most place him in Denver, where he'd be a definite upgrade over both Shammond Williams and Junior Harrington. Should they also get a chance to draft LeBron James, they'd have a nice starting five and an adequate, but by no means intimidating bench.

That team would probably be similar to the Warriors of 2002/2003 - just on the outside of the playoff picture, eliminated before the final week of the season but still significantly better than the previous year's squad.
