trade rumors

Postby erik_twism on Tue Oct 28, 2008 6:36 pm

Hi guys, I would like to know which trades do you think are likely to happen this year.

my thougths:

Z.Randolph (knicks) to Chicago for Hinrich or Hughes/Gooden
I guess the knicks want to get rid of most of their players, but I think Randolph would be the easiest to move (except Lee) and Chicago needs a strong lowpost player and has to many Guards.

V.Carter (Nets) to Lakers for Odom
Nets want to get more capspace, Carter would be a good fit in LA. Carter showed what he can do when he is not motivated (Hello Toronto) and I expect the same this season, so I guess all sides would profit of this trade (maybe not Lamar)

Haslem(Miami) to Memphis for Crittenton or Lowry + Milicic
Miami needs a point and center but has to many forwards, Memphis needs something down low (and certainly not Darko) and has a bunch of good guards.

Iverson (Denver) to anyone who offers money, a second round pick and a couple of Donuts
Comeone, after the Camby "trade" nothing would surprise me.

Trade rumours?

Chris Paul for Mark Madsen.

Any team will want Chris Paul, while Madsen's hustle is always a plus for any team he goes to.

See how rumours are fun.

The Bulls trade seems the most likely and I still don't think it will happen. One of the articles on RealGM's wiretap mentioned that the Bulls have inquired about Randolph but the Knicks aren't interested in any of the players that have been offered.

kakak I love you Shadow

Z.Randolph (knicks) to Chicago for Hinrich or Hughes/Gooden

You say that NY want to get rid of their players and they trade 1 for 2... They already have Duhon and they will not trade for another Chicago PG. And The Bulls have Tyrus Thomas, Joakin Noah and Deng who can play PF. I don't see why the trade.

NJ must be very very but very stupid to pull the trigger on this one
Haslem(Miami) to Memphis for Crittenton or Lowry + Milicic
Miami needs a point and center but has to many forwards, Memphis needs something down low (and certainly not Darko) and has a bunch of good guards.

And Bird stole the ball...

A complete steal for Miami... but with the trades that Memphis/Vancouver has done... you can expect everything...

Iverson (Denver) to anyone who offers money, a second round pick and a couple of Donuts

Yeah... sure... ok...

Oh crap, that was his first post? I'm such a douchebag. Anyway, to entertain his thoughts:

Z.Randolph (knicks) to Chicago for Hinrich or Hughes/Gooden
I guess the knicks want to get rid of most of their players, but I think Randolph would be the easiest to move (except Lee) and Chicago needs a strong lowpost player and has to many Guards.

I doubt the Knicks will accept Hughes' contract and trading away Randolph will give put them in the same situation as the Bulls regarding the need for an effective low post scorer, unless they can get something from Eddy Curry or Jerome James (he's still with the team right?)

The Lakers wouldn't pull the trigger, Odom's a player you can put in any position and why would the Lakers take a star that has the potential to be a jerk when their current superstar can be that jerk occasionally.
Haslem(Miami) to Memphis for Crittenton or Lowry + Milicic
Miami needs a point and center but has to many forwards, Memphis needs something down low (and certainly not Darko) and has a bunch of good guards.

Possible, but I think Riley's highschool crush on Haslem isn't over yet.
Iverson (Denver) to anyone who offers money, a second round pick and a couple of Donuts
Comeone, after the Camby "trade" nothing would surprise me.

Heck, Denver management already implied A.I. as hands-off, more than Carmelo Anthony.

Enjoy your stay in the NLSC.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
And thanks to phBUZZ!!! their is a new rumor: Al Harrington

for me possible trades:
to NY for Crawford: I think D´Antoni is not 100% behind Crawford and would like to get Harrington. But I don´t think Al would like that.

to chicago for gordon or Hinrich: I think GS would like that one and Chicago would get a Big and would get rid of a small player

but i can also think of a Marion-Shaq like trade, if GM´s know that Harrington wants out, they might try to get him cheap.

As far as I'm aware Gordon can't be traded this year having signed the qualifying offer.

Eddy Curry? Not in D'Antoni's favour in New York at the moment.

If they can find someone willing to take on his contract I bet they'd pull the trigger.

What do you think about the predictions of Bill Simmons (ESPN)
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... ons/081028

1. Michael Redd/Dan Gadzuric for Wally Szczerbiak/Sasha Pavlovic
That´s not going to happen I can´t see the bucks to give up their best player for cap space. They should know that it´s hard to convince free agents to go to Milwaukee.

2.Wally, $3 million and a future No. 1 to Utah for Kirilenko
Just likely if Utah get´s an seasonending injury to a star and believe that they don´t have a shot at the championship this year.

but I definetly see Wally moved this year.

1. Seriously? I'd be amazed if the Bucks pulled the trigger on that.

2. More likely than the first but I still doubt it. Depends on the pick I guess, if it's anytime soon it's probably not going to be a lottery pick so I doubt the Jazz would go for it.

Redd to Cavs for Sasha and Wally?

Good trade to Cavs... but for the Bucks... they must be stupid

I think the bulls should keep hinrich and gooden, hinrich can shoot and gooden is good in the low post and rebounding. If they want zack randolph they should get rid of hughes and nocioni maybe for zack randolph.

I like Hinrich but if a good deal comes along I would rather the Bulls pull the trigger. If they can move Hughes and clear the logjam at guard that would be great but that's easier said than done. I'm still not keen on the idea of the Bulls getting Zach Randolph due to his rep for being selfish and unmotivated. He had that 20-10 year in Portland but I don't think he's the solution.

NBA sources are saying the Nuggets have offered Iverson to the Pistons for Denver-native Chauncey Billups, the Boston Globe reports.

For me that would be a bad trade for Detroit, i don´t think Iverson would be a good fit in Detroit. With Rip and AI in the backcourt, who is going to guard the opponents best guard? Is AI willing and able to keep the slow offense going?
I don´t think that a trade would increase their chanches of winning it all.
So I don´t think this trade is going to happen.

Only Joe Dumars would trade a super efficient guard from one of the best offenses in the league for a low efficiency high usage one and have it work.

Didn't they do Iverson-to-Detroit rumours back in the 1999/2000 season? Talk about jumping the shark.

Iverson for Billups doesn't work straight up so such a trade would have to involve some other players to be at all feasible.

I agree. If I was Denver, I'd do a deal for Billups but if I was Detroit, I would be thinking, 'wait a moment.' I don't know why the Pistons would want Iverson for Billups...
