Albert, Fratello, and Van Gundy

Is there something going on between these three on the TNT broadcasts? First Jeff Van Gundy's with them, then he's not, then he's back, now he's not. There are accusations about not getting enough "mike time", then Marv Albert and Mike Fratello seem to be "going at it" on air, and Van Gundy is "accused" of "siding" with Albert.

I realize they're "nicening it up" for the sake of TV, but there's definitely some ill-blood among those three.

I dont think so, Van Gundy is just gone to do other games since Ainge is the Celtics VP.

Van Gundy also had a meeting with either the Raptors or Cavaliers (forget which) about taking over as head coach (which he has declined).

Even when Albert and Fratello were working together at NBC in the early 90s, they would rib each other during the games. If they were working with a third person (such as Magic Johnson, for a couple of years), he would usually side with one of them on the joke.

If there truly was animosity, I doubt TNT would continue to have them work games with each other. I also think they'd make them restrict their feud to behind the scenes, no matter how they might try to polish it up on the air.

Van Gundy had a discussion with Glen Grunwald (Raptors' GM) about what he thought of the candidates for the Raptors' position as head coach. Not about becoming head coach.
It's funny how the New York media is now talking about how JVG has declined the Raptors while he never was a true candidate.
