Skiles Accepts Bucks' Offer "Verbally"

Postby Fizdale on Mon Apr 21, 2008 10:39 pm

New York Post
Scott Skiles has accepted an offer from the Bucks, erasing him as a Knicks coaching candidate, according to a league source. Skiles' imminent hiring strengthens front-runner Mark Jackson's candidacy, which received another boost over the weekend with Jeff Van Gundy's endorsement.

Uhm, of coz it's a + for the Bucks Fans, it aint official, but it's like a "handshake agreement"

thoughts will be nice.

Actually, as outlined here this topic doesn't necessarily belong in the Bucks thread, though it can certainly be talked about there too.

As I've said before, the Bulls' disappointing start to the season left Skiles somewhat maligned and probably a bit underrated too, but I still think he's the kind of coach that has a more limited shelf life. I see him as the type of coach who can come in, have a positive impact on the team but ultimately it will be someone else who guides them to the next level after Skiles has worn out his welcome. That's not how it happened in Chicago of course but despite having a worse record, the Bucks aren't facing the same issues/deficiencies as the Bulls so it might turn out to be a better fit.
