New Orleans vs. Philly

Well I predicted over at .org that Stacey Augmon would be able to hold AI to aroun d15 or so like the last time they played one another. AI scores 55 including 20 in the 4th!!!

shouldn't that be descused in another thread?

meanwhile...by looking at the box score of today's game...

the sixers couldn't stop Mash (and they were not supposed to)
the main achievent of the Sixers was stopping Baron...without Baron the Hornets can't function...

meanwhile...i'm guessing that the Hornets put Weasley/ Augmon on Ivy...Weasley, being also a shot guard, can't block Ivy and can't match his quickness...while Augmon doesn't have the understanding od the game, the quickness, or the speed to stop IVy...

unless the Hornets put Baron on Ivy...Ivy will keep on dropping huge numbers...

and if Baron did guard Ivy in this game...then this series is practicly finished already...

If Van-Horn stats playing well...the Sixers wo'nt have a problem winnig...sinxce they won with him bearly scoring...

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D iverson finally showed his shooting miracle! if he could hit 20 shots a game every game, he could score at least 25000 points at the end of his career.

That's why I said BTW because it was just a little thing about todays games. Theres no Pistons - Magic thread. Well there will be in about 2 minutes.

just a question

has there ever been such a great scorer with the height and weight of iverson??
iverson has showed that he can be a good solid scorer still and be unselfish, all games i saw of him this season, he was unselfish with the ball, of course hes gonna have them 11-28 and etc. games but hey hes the franchise player.

i really like the way iverson has played this year

No one else of similar stature has been such a prolific scorer. Isiah Thomas is about the closest, but his top mark of 22.9 ppg is nowhere near Iverson's 31.4 set last season. Mind you, Thomas was a PG, so averaged considerably more apg. But no, there isn't anyone else (that I can remember offhand) who could score like Iverson.

Iverson's the only player of his height 2 play at SG...& to score so much points !
Look how good he was yesterday in the game end !
I love the way he plays, & when he is 21 from 32, scoring 55, I'm AMAZED !

Don't forget everyone's hero Tiny Archibald! Lead the league in scoring (34.0ppg) and assists (11.4apg) in the same season.

what a start to the playoffs , i cant remember the last time we had so much excitement in the first round let alone the first games. now that Mj's gone i think its safe to say that the league's in safe hands.

Well, there's our answer. Thanks Dan (Y) though I never knew Archibald led the league in scoring. Yes, I did know who he was and that he played in the NBA.

I really believe Philly could even sweep the series. They won today again, despite Iverson not shooting sooooooooo well, and Mashburn is out now, unless he plays with a broken finger. Davis didn't play too.

poor hornets, seems like they are cursed with having a key player injured come playoff time. last year it was mash, this year it's bdavis. sixers in a good position to advance.

anyone else find it amusing that the philly crowd booed kvh for missing a perimeter shot and minutes later they applauded him for diving to keep the ball inbounds?!

kenny thomas was a great pickup for the sixers

The Hornets have a chance to salvage some dignity by winning one or two, but I agree, a sweep is certainly not out of the question. While the unlikely isn't impossible, I don't see New Orleans coming back from 0-2 to win the series.

sixers loose loose game 3...but since it was at NO i'm not worried

B.Davis had a great game...including an increadable 4th quarter...

i think he scored more points in the 4th than the entire sixers team... :(

but we'll still get them....if not away, then at home...

But I guess now it is.

I'm still going to pick Sixers in 5, 6 at the most.
