EAST

Pistons over Magic. tmac can't do it all by himself
Nets over Bucks. this may go 7 with bux playing well. nets take it
Pacers over Celtics. even if Artest blows up, Pacers dept too much for celt
Sixers vs Hornets. hornets will make this a close one. the sixers are already beat down with injuries. if DC & kvh can't stay healthy, that will spell their doom. sixers advance

WEST

Spurs vs Suns. sorry stephon, TD and co. take this in 5
Kings vs Jazz. kings are on a mission
Mavericks vs Blazers. with pip healthy, blaze pull off an upset
Timberwolves vs Lakers. twolves make the most of home court. oneal and co. go on early vacation. MIN one of few teams that had success vs LAL this year

You think?? What's going on with Gooden? He hasn't been playing a lot and has missed a few games late in the season.

I think that the Bucks could surprise some people. Gary Payton isn't getting the respect he needs. In my opinion, he's no less or greater than Jason Kidd. This will be an awesome matchup. So will Richard Jefferson and Desmond Mason. Cassell and Payton are one of the best backcourts in the league. Better than Kidd and Kittles.

Yes, for no other reason (that I can think of) except more $$$, the playoff format is now 7-7-7-7.

Guess I should make my predictions before the playoffs begin.

EAST

Pistons over Magic (4-1)
Nets over Bucks (4-0)
Pacers over Celtics (4-1)
Sixers over Hornets (4-2)

Yes, it's just picking the higher seed, but I do think it will be the top 4 teams who advance in this round. The only one I consider a bold prediction would be Sixers/Hornets - that's the only matchup I personally feel there could be an upset, but I still take the Sixers in six.

WEST

Spurs over Suns (4-1)
Kings over Jazz (4-0)
Mavericks over Blazers (4-1)
Timberwolves over Lakers (4-2)

Again, I'm going with the top 4 seeds advancing, with the Wolves/Lakers series being the longest. I feel that the overconfidence of the Lakers will be their undoing this year - and if it's not in the first round, in the second. But hey, that's just my prediction, subject to any subconscious prejudice I may have.
