Postby kingjames23 on Tue Apr 08, 2003 3:37 pm

and secondly, will he make an immediate impact?
personally, i'm hoping the raptors get him........
if carter and murray return next year fully healed, and they get james in the draft, im jumping on the bandwagon cause it would be a fun ride! carter's game would definatly improve with an offensive threat and assist man like lebron.
hey, it could happen..... houston got yao last year

wut chall think?

I hope he goes to Denver instead of Cleveland. Denver would be the perfect fit IMHO; their roster lacks a PG, whereas Cleveland has many swingmen in Davis, Wagner, Parker, Miles, etc.

But in the back of my mind I actually hope he goes to some Eastern Conference team, ie, Miami, Toronto, even Cleveland.

I think the East needs more good players.

And yes, from what I've seen of LeBron on ESPN, the guy seems ready to impact the game.

The Raptors should try and trade Carter to whatever team gets the first pick, and then pick Lebron... atleast he might play... :D How about a trade involving 2 players who don't play: Carter to the Nuggets for Camby and the first pick!! :D Only joking, please refrain from any panty-bunching.

i dont know, denver has a lot of $$ this year to attract free agents, so could pick up some beef + nene's pretty beefy
as for howard, i think that he would want to be part of the whole L.james thing and if the moneys right he will stay

i think everyone is giving him too much cretit at this stage. all that crap with his jersy in hall of fame, WDF, wagner once scored 100 pts in high skol game, ameri had 28ppg, plus tyson. he playes agains 5-11 kids, some who are in year 10 or 11. he had never in a organised game went for a dunk just to find 2 7 footer ready to bock, never tried a pass against a pro.... maybe in pick up game. i think that the only reason he might be good is coz he will be the top pick and all the coach wull work on him.

i thknk that any player could be a superstar fi a coach worked on him as much as they do 1st round piks!!

I agree to a certain extent. There's certainly a lot of hype surrounding LeBron, and I feel that he might not live up to it for a couple of years, since the NBA will be tougher competition than what he's been facing in high school.

That said, he's not been facing a bunch of sub-6 foot players who can't play at all. Remember, Kevin Garnett was 6-11 when he came out of high school - there are some players at the high school level who, like LeBron, already have the height and bulk to play in the pros.

It's been well documented that LeBron is fundamentally sound and talented in many aspects of the game. The main concerns really should be his maturity and the pyschological impact of being the top draft pick. He's going to go to a team that had a losing season in 2002/2003, who might not have a lot of talent, and will likely lose a lot of games in 2003/2004. He might also have to deal with not being the main man - something he's always been thus far.

As for where he's going...

For some reason, I just don't see him going to the Cavs. I think fate will prove to be cruel to Cleveland, just as it was to Boston when they were vying for best odds in the Tim Duncan Lottery in 1997. I'm going with Denver, Miami and Toronto as the three teams that will probably get lucky in the lottery.

But you never know, he could pull a Steve Francis and get traded before he can even meet his new teammates.

Err yeah you're right I was thinking Ginobili. About Giricec I always had a good feeling about him, from reports I'd read so I don't count him as my biggest surprise either.

Carlos Boozer and JR Bremer have surprised me the most. Carlos has been a good inside presence for the Cavs while Bremer has been starting at point (the well-known hardest position to make an immediate impact in the league) for one of the best teams in the Eastern Comference.

The rookie who surprised me the most was Reggie Evans. I think a rookie like him comes between very few years. The guy plays defense as a rookie.. What else can one say? The O can be taught later on his career. I think this guy could be something special, a Ben Wallace, Dennis Rodman-kinda player.
