I don't quite know about Drew, is he a good rebounder or what??? I just saw his season stats, only 5.8 rebounds??? Mike Miller can do that. Maybe I am wrong.

I like the trade, My fav team is the Orlando Magic so I like the inside presence we have now compared to the nothing before. Mike Miller is a good player but we need something new. Im glad with the trade cuz i also like Drew Gooden. Magic will improve now and Drew Gooden will have a great opportunity to improve his scoring.

For Orland0

Lets Not Forget About Giricek when he's hot he'll easily pour in 20 off the bench...better back up than Jeryl Sasser.

Also For the magic Even though he has SF size Gooden has a nice PF game skill-wise and he can give them a beter inside presence then anyone they have now(Declerq, Hunter etc.). Now Garrity can stand outside all he wants(as he does anyway)

BTW Gooden wasn't a fulltime starter with the Grizz hence only 5.8 rpg. If he started all games he would have averaged at least 7 rebounds.

For Memphis

Memphis was overloaded at the SF/PF position with young potential and talent and frankly still are. Mike Miller right now is the best player in this trade im my opnion and With Shane Battier playing some dismal ball, Mike will most likely start here. Mike Miller and Pau Gasol can be a nice combination for the future, along with J-Will who has been ballin' this year.

The Grizz now need a solid 2 Guard Posibly using Mike Miller there, but the way they are going If they draft Reece Gaines or Dwyane Wade and either turn out to be good they may have something for the future....I Mean this year the playoffs are pretty much out of the question.

About Ryan Humpfries, He really hasn't impressed me other then if you need a hard foul he can secure you a nice pounding...Maybe he'll turn out a Rick Mahorn Type player.[/b]

I think they'll use:

C: Kemp/Declerq
PF: Gooden
SF: Garrity
SG: McGrady
PG: Vaughn/Armstrong

No way that Gooden will play center.

This trade works out well for both teams. The Magic got the scoring big man they wanted and the Grizz got a consistent scorer to help out Gasol. I think the Magic probably got the good end of this deal as Giricek will probably turn out to be just as good as Miller and Humphries is only good for a few boards and fouls. I also find it suprising that the players that were said to be untouchable by the coaching staff have been dealt. Both Miller and Gooden have both been quoted as being just that.

Magics can't make the playoff this year

I disagree.

I don't quite know about Drew, is he a good rebounder or what??? I just saw his season stats, only 5.8 rebounds???

He hasn't been getting consistent minutes and at the start of the season they slowly brought him along. A couple of 2 rebound games stuff up your averages. He is capable of getting at least 8 or 9 boards a game.

I think they'll use:

C: Kemp/Declerq
PF: Gooden
SF: Garrity
SG: McGrady
PG: Vaughn/Armstrong

No way that Gooden will play center.

I agree.

The trade has taken me by surprise. It's not often that such a high draft pick is dealt during his rookie season, especially when he's had a few good games despite inconsistent minutes.

I can't really comment any further on the trade itself, as I don't really have a unique perspective on it. A fairly good trade for both teams, rare in a time where the salary cap makes many deals one-sided.

for some reason, i just don't like this trade? especially with grant hill out, and orlando lacking scorers; but i guess it's okay having more inside presents, plus it helps their reboudning....

You know something funny about this.. On my NBA Live 2003 game (for PC), I played in my Franchise mode and Mike Miller was traded for Gordon Giricek.. It was strange like hell. This actually happened before they traded him yesterday (it was on Tuesday). Hmm.. maybe my game can predict other trades too :D

I think it was a bad trade for Memphis. The Number 4 pick traded so soon. He shouldnt have picked him that high if he was going to trad him for Mike Miller. Mess up somewhere.

Drew can be a center?

Yeah, he can, he's got the size and he's in the East now.

magic got the best out of this trade...

1st off...they got ROY Drew gooden, who will be the next KG if he continues to improve (which he will)

plus a great scorer...

and they only let go of Miller (who's not better off at memphis...but still)
and Humphery...who didn't do shit this year...
the pick wounm't be lottery and the 2nd round pick was just thrown in for the fun of it...

great deal by tha magic!

you obviously haven't seen a single Grizz game; his defence is awful & he's not got post moves

I'm glad Drew Gooden got out of Magic...

Magic clearly got the better end. They now have some much needed young potential stars. and as pavel said, all they had to give up was miller and humphrey.

Drew is no center he would be man handled. I think he will make a good PF and with Mcgrady playing T-Mac can now drive to the lane get double teamed and pass off to a nice low post scorer which he has never had(in ORL). Dont give me the Horace Grant Crap.

I Like:

C - Kemp/Garrity
PF- Gooden
SF- T-Mac
SG- Giricek
PG- Armstrong(Even though they Use Jaques "Strap" Vaughn)

I Think Giricek will provide a boost off the bench if they decide to us him off the bench.

Even worse, Pat Garrity can't play at Center. Kemp is still good tho.
