Eddy Curry making a comeback...

...in the new Champions Basketball League.

Eddy Curry is coming back to New York!

Behind a star-studded front office, including president and Knicks legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier and general manager and NBA Hall of Famer Earl “The Pearl” Monroe, the Champions Basketball League unveiled its first team, the Gotham Ballers.

With head coach John Wallace, the Ballers feature a slew of former Knicks — and NBA burnouts — such as Al Harrington, Kenyon Martin, Renaldo Balkman and Curry.

But for a new league bound to serve as an appetizer before the NBA season, the Ballers roster does feature stars a few years removed from their primes.

“People estimate this team would finish fifth or sixth in the Olympics this year,” said Carl George, chairman and CEO of the Champions Basketball League. “It’s an impressive group of players. We’re building a competitive league. No one wants to see a league that’s not competitive.”

“I view this league as a second opportunity,” Frazier said. “For guys to capitalize on their mistakes, make contacts and perhaps get back into the [NBA].”

The D-League already offers that opportunity in an official capacity, but with teams being made up of NBA alumni, perhaps the league could also foster a working relationship with the CBL as well.
