Dwyane Wade To Bulls

Postby Alpha_ on Thu Jul 07, 2016 11:34 am

Dwyane Wade has agreed to sign with the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls will send out the contracts of Mike Dunleavy and Jose Calderon to create cap space to sign Wade.

Wade also discussed a contract with the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets. The Heat were offering Wade a two-year, $40 million contract.

Wade was the fifth overall pick by the Heat in 2003 and he won three titles with the franchise.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, Wade told those close to him that Chicago was the only place he could see himself playing other than the Heat.

It'd be more exciting if this was 2010 and not 2016, but Wade had a pretty good season last year. It seems like the Bulls are just winging it as far as a rebuilding plan is concerned, so I don't mind them bringing him in to hopefully make things somewhat interesting for a season or two.

It's a 2 yr deal $47M.

So, Butler will move to SF?

Seems highly unlikely he'll go to the bench, so yeah, I imagine Butler will move to small forward.

I would take Playoff Wade that singlehandedly beat the Hornets thanks to the dude in the purple shirt heckling him

Yeah I get this bit.

So if the Bosh doesn't return that team has no one other than Dragic, Whiteside and Winslow for the future, pretty grim.

At least until Whiteside starts posting a Wilt-like stat line.

Yeah, GOATside has to step up now. On the other hand, should Bosh retire for health reasons (and if the clots reappear for the third time, I think he will), it would clear cap space for 2018 FA - James Harden, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, Dirk Nowitzki and LaMarcus Aldridge are some of the big names for that free agency so far.

BTW doesn't Bosh and Wade have same agent?
