Is D Wade actually considering leaving the Heat?

I know he's taken huge pay cuts throughout his career but holy shit, I'm surprised he's even thinking about leaving with the team they have.

He's spent his whole career there and has already won a couple rings, why leave now when you can go down as one of the best Miami Heat players ever? But instead he's thinking about leaving which could possibly ruin his legacy.

Even if he leaves, I'd say he's established himself as one of the best players in Heat history, not to mention one of the best shooting guards in league history. Certainly the three-point era, at the very least.

Loyalty should be a two-way street, and it's understandable if he's feeling a bit slighted, having made sacrifices for the team in the past. It's not like he didn't get anything out of it, or wasn't still receiving a lot of money, but again, his position is understandable. As far as him actually leaving, I wouldn't be surprised if this is largely a negotiation tactic, but at the same time, it sounds like he's leaving his options more open than he has in the past.

Wade is coming back and he's going to get paid. He was once again our best player this past season.

Would be sad to see him leave, especially since he showed he's still got it in the playoffs

I really don't understand the rumours that he feels he should be compensated for taking pay cuts to Help create the big 3, he talked to LeBron and Bosh about teaming up and of course the only way they can do is to take less money, the Heat don't owe him for that.

I'd say they do and they don't. That was obviously his choice to make, but he's also been a star for them for over a decade, and he did take a pay cut for the good of the team during his prime, the years when his earning potential was at its peak. Realistically, the Heat aren't obliged to compensate him now - if money was an issue, he could've refused, and he obviously didn't - but it would be an admirable gesture on their part, and I understand why he feels he's owed. Considering the money some other players are going to get, his price doesn't seem that unreasonable, either.

We could also day that the Spurs owe Tim Duncan for his pay cuts but it was his choice to leave money on the table for the good of the team.

He was past his prime when he did that, so the situation is a little different.

i also dont agree with the idea that they owe him just like i dont agree that whiteside owed the heat for giving him the opportunity. its a business and everyone has to agree on the contracts. sometimes you have to choose do you want money or a ring and he made his choice. now his choice is does he want to finish his career in the city he has always played in or does he want to sign on with a contender some where else. he could also choose to just take the biggest pay day offered to him. whatever happens its a business

now with all that being said i have always been a fan of players staying with the team that drafted them. well except for this year of course. i really think KD should leave and sign somewhere in the northeast

Well, technically Durant wasn't drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder but the Seattle Supersonics, and they obviously aren't around anymore. So, there's your loophole. ;)

I guess I see the Wade situation from both angles, so I don't disagree with you as such. The thought does occur that the situation is a little different if they promised to look after him down the road if he took those paycuts, and are now going back on their word. If that is the case, then he's not wrong to feel miffed.

Well it looks like it's happening, if they can trade Calderon and Dunleavy. Never thought I'd see the day, NovU is going to be pissed... I'm guessing Wade is a bitch just like LeBron now?

Love it. I been saying for awhile Wade should ditch the Heat and voila! The Bulls are gonna be a really fun team to watch now whether good or bad. But they will be very competitive for sure. These new old boys have very competitive characteristics and got something to prove at this stage of their career. This is just great.

Now it's Fuck the Heat, Fuck the Cavs, Celtics, LBJ, Lakers. Let's go.

I dont understand Wade, Miami was 48min away from Eastern finals, all without Bosh. Miami have young, very perspective players, i think Josh will be future top5 defensive player, Winslow is also improving. Now, if we are talking about money, Miami offered him 40M, Bulls 47,5M. Cmon we are talking about 7,5M, its big difference for guy like Wade, so hey, it cant be money. He wont win chip with Miami, but he also wont win with Chicago. He was franchise player, i dont get it. Its for sure not because of better weather in Chicago right? He was able to make eastern finals in 2017, its not gonna to happen in Chicago. He was born in Chicago.....and?

He felt disrespected by Heat management, in that he made sacrifices for the team - financially and otherwise - and then wasn't taken care of later down the road. He's a three-time champion in Miami, his legacy is pretty secure. He gets a little extra money, while playing for his hometown team that he grew up watching.
