Make your own headshape

Postby Bru on Sat Sep 06, 2003 2:53 am

This is basically a trick to modify an original headshape giving to it a new hair, but can be used for other face parts.

Live 2000 creates a Temp folder while playing the game, where are descompressed most of the files, it's located on the Live 2000 main folder, but if you quit the game normally, with no force, this folder will be deleted.

You must create two new players giving them the same cyberface, but changing just one thing (i.e. the size of the hair, the nose...), this two players will have the same data in the bin files except for the part changed.

Now go and play a 1 on 1 game with this players, and during the game reset your computer or type the windows key. Your computer will be restarted or you'll be sended to the desktop, now you can find that Temp folder and the bin files inside.

With an hexeditor compare the bin files (I use hexworhshop, there's an option to compare directly the files) and this will give you the parts that don't match, here lies the data that will give you one hairdo or another (or nose size, or mouth size,...whatever was different from the two players created).

Taking these strings as a reference, open a new headshape with hex editor ( let's say Keith Closs' one) copy the lines belonging to the hair (each headshape have the same parts located in the same strings, more or less) and then replace the strings of another headshape with the closs' ones. Finally you'll have the headshape of Jordan (i.e.) with the hair of Keith.

As an example, I did a while ago a Pippen patch that keeped his particular face but added a bigger afro, it can be found here http://www.angelfire.com/games4/bru0/bru.html

BRU, Nice to see you showing some love for Live 2000. I must try this, this sounds real good.

Thanks,

Yes Eric did, but not quite like this. Bru's idea of duplicating a player shape file and then forcing a shut down is very different. This weekend i am going to give this a long test.

Well, Eric found it out with the same method, it was like Mendelediev and the other guy.
On the old forum were posts talking about that Temp folder and using these genereated headshapes.
