Please H-E-L-P!

First off:

For those that don't know me, I'm Kevin Bailey. I was apart of NLSC before it was updated (and everyone had a website), and now I'm back, playing Live 2000 more than ever before. Congrats to Alex and the rest of you guys keeping Live 2000 ALIVE! I have ocer 4 CD Roms with patches taken from various sites in the past, so if you need ANYTHING I most likely have it.

Now, here is my issue:

I got a new computer (XP) last year, mega fast and graphics are amazing! However, some of the old patches I have don't work anymore. With these patches, when I double click the icon to extract them in the main NBA Live 2000 folder, you see a dos screen "blink", and that's it.

With the patches that work, you see a dos screen, telling you what's being updated, and boom!, the update works!

What can I do about the patches that don't work? Is it that my computer is too fast for the program these old patchers used to extract? They work on my old Win 95 computer, but of course, the graphics are not the same!

Please help! Thanks in Advance!

Hey, Kevin i remember you...................... Welcome back! Sorry i have Win98se so i don't have an answer to your problem, but it is good to see more and more people come back to Live 2000.
I too have alot of the older stuff on CD-R or Zip, but i know i am missing a few good things, especially the legend stuff. I will E-mail you, but as far the problem you are having i am sure someone will help.

I don't have Windows XP so I can't speak as a true expert, but it seems that for bat files, that are meant to be fos Dos (and WinXP pretends to work without dos), you have to enable a "dos compatibility". try a right click on your bat file and in the properties look for this dos compatibility (it could be named in a different way though)

I think the solution may be here

good luck

Well, when I get home today from work, I will do what you said Alex. Hopefully, I'll have good news... because (partically because of a mistake I made and becuase its tradition for me to do every upcoming season), I am building the game all over again.

I will support Alex and use his roster patch (I hope the ratings, salaries, and players years of experience is accurrate as my old one) and go from there.

If anyone else has any suggestions with the patch problem I'm having on my "too-fast for Live 2000" computer, I'd appreciate it. I don' t know how to make my own .bat file and such, because I taught myself alot with patching.

Oh, and I need photoshop so I can start giving these great patchers here a run for their money!

my roster's still in beta version, so a lot of ratings are not adjusted, but soon a playable version will be out :)
