How do I group .fsh files for different resolutions?

A lot of you have been saying my patches make your game crash b/c they don't fit your computer resolution. Now let me get this right, correct me if I'm wrong:
1. The "resolution" refers to the pixel dimensions, i.e., 160 X 96= 160 pixels by 96 pixels. You fix this in Paint Shop.
2. I open the .fsh files on Alexsite patches and when I click on them in EA Graph, there are 2-3 "fac" files grouped together. How in the world do I do this?
If anybody can help me with this, I can whip up some rookie patches in no time.
