Problem running NBA Live 96

Hi,

I've pulled out my old NBA Live 96 for PC... Uf... I run this game, it shows some credits, main logo, then main menu; after this I select two teams and when I press OK button (to start playing) the game goes back to DOS (DOSBox used here) with error message:
"text manager - TEXT MANAGER NOT INITIALIZED (call inittextman first)".

Damn!

Can anybody help me on this one?

I remember getting that error sometimes back in the day. I seem to remember getting around it with a boot disk, though that's not an option these days. I've found I'm able to run NBA Live 96 in Windows XP, since it will install a batch file for Windows compatibility.

I am using Dos Box.... I did not install the game,that didn't seem to work. I do not have a game disc anymore, I downloaded the game, though I used to have the disc (it got eaten up from being a dumb kid who didnt take care of CDs)

But the game Runs perfectly Fine until the moment an actual basketball game is about to start, then you get this error...
