I'm currently creating from scratch an up-to-date NBA roster. If some people want, I'll release beta versions.

I'm starting from scratch as I won't take neither Ben's roster nor NLSC one as a basis so i've got to recreate all players coming in nba after 2000.

my plannification:
1 - renaming vancouver & charlotte to memphis & new orleans (that's easy and already done)
2- creating missing players with accurate lookings, and all informations: college, birthdate, birthplace, draft etc...
3 - moving retired players (larry johnson, luc longley & many others) to legend pool
4 - making all trades and free agents signing
5 - updating ratings and adjusting ratings for created players
6 - creating all free agents that had already a cyberface for Live 2000 (players like Abdul-Rauf, Louis Bullock or others) that should make a big free agent pool I think

then there may be some other additions (optionnal)
7 - adding career stats for created players
8 - creating legend teams

i haven't got so much time but i'll use most of my spare time for this roster and for alexsite. For the moment i've just started creating some players.
i'm opened for every help or suggestions (about ratings or whatever).

I hope I will release this roster in April. I'll post here sometimes to tell you my advancement.

Atlanta, Boston, Chicago & Cleveland are done, with created players (accurate lookings and info) and up to date rosters.

Nice work, I know from experience how difficult creating a roster patch from scratch is. Just a note about the career stats - you might want to avoid adding stats for 99/00 onwards, as this will create duplicate stats when playing a Franchise.

Thanks for the info Andrew, I was wondering about that.

I though first adding stats for players like John Crotty or Brian Shaw, that had a long career already before the 2000 season but that weren't in the game.
I remember about John Crotty that all his career stats were duplicated in the NLSC roster by the way

for info, all roster organized and players created until Los Angeles Lakers.

by the way, if someone already wants to beta test this roster, i'll be glad to send it to him

i'll work a lot on it tonight.

by the way, once i'll create every player, i need some beta tester to give me opinions on created player apparence, ratings, etc... If you want to be one of them, post here with your email !

I shorten my night to release the first version of the roster !!

but be careful, this is only a beta version which is not very playable. your game will not crash, but it's not realistic at all as i didn't adjust ratings for created players.

here's what this version has :
- updated roster through july, 31 (lineups are not correct, though)
- updated players numbers (marbury #3, kerr #4...)
- 241 players created with accurate height, weight, college, numbers, years experience and accurate lookings
- retired players (stockton, starks, mullin, longley, saly, phills...) placed in the legend pool
- adjusted some ratings

what's coming :
- adjusting ratings for created players
- updating years experience
- adding career stats for created players who played before the 99-00 season
- adding some free agents


but above all, I need your help ! please beta test this roster and tell me the things that has to be improved : some created players lookings may be wrong or uncomplete, and you can help me to adjust the ratings !

Starting from scratch...it must have been hell of a job..well I'll try this patch even though I was playing with LA franchise in 2003. It's Ben's latest patch.

What I'm wondering is if you recommend me to reinstall NBA live 2000. cuz Ben's patch modified salary.ini and other files. I think some data files might conflict each other. what do you think?

Is the patch for the season games only? or I can play the franchise for 25 years?

I wanna try the new patch when I'm home tonight.

the roster work in franchise mode, no problem, i even updated contracts lengths. I tried it, some stats don't look very realistic for the moment, but I'll correct it soon and globally it's quite correct for a beta version.

about files, I suggest you copy from your nba live 2000 the salaries.ini file. else the player salaries are far too big compared to the salary cap.

i've got to create a bunch of players to (as Marquis Daniels, Richie Frahm, Ben Handlogten...) so I'm currently gathering all the info on those players (appearance, birthdate etc...)

The roster may be out on sunday.

hey obviously u probably know this already but there are some players where they cant get better then what the game originally put him as.....like t-mac....his stats were sucking when 2000 came out so there is never a time where he can score more than 20 a game when u simulate a whole season with him........but i messed around with the stats and i finally made it so he averages 28 a game by just simulating him which is good cuz i love playing AGAINST him......here it is

kewl! I've been enjoying my blazers franchise with your roster. I'm in the year 2009 of it. I recently acquired Lebron James through free agency by mid level exception. It's not very easy to stay under 1 m team salary cap and try to win a championship.

He is 25 years now but his rating is down to 71. I checked his careerpkg and found he got "E". Wasn't "E" meant to be having bad potential?

I'm looking forward to a new patch too cuz Blazers got Stepania as a backup center.

Were those problems that I mentioned before solved?

1. Some bench players having exatly the same ratings as others.
2. Unrealistic salary
3. etc

Please coninue your hard work on the roster. You are the man!!

roster v.0.27 is out !. Accurate roster, no more missing players !

The roster has accurate players, updated a looot of ratings, corrected some contract bugs and much more.
There's still salaries contracts to update and many ratings to adjust, but it's a matter of time. suggestions for ratings are welcome.

version 0.28 is out at Alexsite with the latest trades, 3 new created players (Kirk Penney, Matt Carroll and Alton Ford) and a lot of adjusted ratings, thanks to AIEvOn !

By the way, there are 2 trades that are not taken into account in the roster :
- Cherokee Parks to Golden State, because Warriors roster stands at 16 players for the moment. Parks remains in free agency in the version 0.28 of the roster.
If I see that Evan Eschmeyer is injured for a long time and that C. Parks actually plays, I'll waive him and sign Parks
- Alton Ford to Houston. I created him but like the Warriors, the Rockets roster stands at 16, so Ford is for the moment in free agency
But Maurice Taylor and Eddie Griffin are on the suspended list. I noticed that John Amaechi has not played for the moment, if Alton Ford plays over Amaechi, I'll sign him and waive Amaechi.

What do you think of it ?

Come get v. 0.30 of the roster with all the latest trades and some more tweaks on ratings. Right now I still have too much work to spend time on it in order to do more than updating rosters, but I promise you that as soon as I'm on holidays, I'll work on it to improve it way a lot
