NBA 2000 vs NBA 2005

Fri Jan 07, 2005 5:02 pm

I heard that 2005 is out. Going to get it as soon as I got a newer machine. I didnt expect to see hundreds and i mean hundreds (maybe thousands) of poeple still playing nba live2000. almost sent me to tears. My thanks to the man ALEX for giving it some LIFE after all this years.

To be honest I just recently got back playing with tha game after almost a year abscence because my CD was broken when someone accidentally sat on it. I later found out that the HDD I have on my Pentuim 1 unit still has the virtual CD version of my game I immediately burn it on a cd.( i made 3 copies to be safe [ is dat legal?]) then after I have a petty fight wth my girl friend I stay up late last week and der i was!!!! installing the game and feeling like i was a teen once again. (I played NBA live 2000 back in oct. of 1999 and played it every year after till today) although the graphics of the newer LIve series were great nothing compares to the gameplay and the kicks I get hitting the last second jumpers to beat the cpu in franchise mode. hell i have been straining my eyes for this game for the past 6 years!! (i have nba live 2k3 and nba live95-99 and nbalive2k1) but i never get bored wasting hours of my life playing as a virtual playing coach in nba live2000. and the great news is i get hold of you guys patches and now i am using the game just like im playing nba live 2k5. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!!! its the sweet things in life which makes living worth a try(next would be sex i guess)

PS
i know dis seem to be so long but mr.ALEX i installed yer patch n I somehow felt I over traded with yer new salary cap. after a few calculations and tries i trick the PC into some out of this world trades and signed up free agents and i end up with this line up.

TEAM HOUSTON ROCKETS
S5
M.yao -C 81
A.stoudamire -PF 76
A.kirilenko -SF 79
T mac -SG 84
S.nash -PG 78

bench
I. rider -SG 76
C. ceballos -SF 74
S.kemp -PF 74
C boozer -PF 78
R.bowen -SG 68
R.strickland -PG 72
D.mutombo -C 74

i was wondering that theres still room for improvement because i think this team i got is an all out championship material!!! correct me if i am wrong ok? but is ceballos still eligible to play? got him in the free agents as well as other guys with above 70 ratings. if you guys think my team is weak then you're not an nba fan, imagine what havoc this guys could bring playing together in the nba. my record is 9-1(lost the first game because haven't trade yet and the rust i guess for not playing almost a year) and i use a 28 games season. (havent got an unbeaten season so far since i played the game. best i can always get is a one game lost in season and a game lost in playoffs. been champion 16 times before. won betting tournaments with pals. once i won a car but i return it after a month because i saw how miserable my friend become. hehehe

thanks anyways i really appreciate u guys helping bring back the color of the best bsketball sim ever NBA live 2000.

I'm also one of the fans who still play and patch NBA Live 2000 (although i have installed 2005 on my PC but it's running slow because my PC system requirements did not meet the 2005's ideal requirements)
Anyway, it's been six years (or five?) already since NBA Live 2000 came out and yet, it's still there for us people to enjoy this classic PC game.

Well, I noticed a "community" of at last 50 people still playing actively the game. I assume that indeed we are more than a hundred, a thousand would be pretty much

Anyway, I'm still glad to discover day after day new people still enjoying the game!

Regarding Ceballos: he's still playing in minor league, in ABA, in Utah Bears, a team coached by... Isac Austin! I'll make some cleaning in next roster update, and I think I'll decrease Ceballos ratings, as even if he's really good in ABA, he shouldn't make it anymore in NBA...

A thousand we may never know hehehe. yep the game is already almost 6 years old. it was out for the PC early august of 1999. thaks alex. cedric use to be with the suns more tha a decade ago and I use to cheer for them. well lets face it I do like the Jordan bulls better but the 1993 suns was a great team with charles and all. I was shock to see cedric at the free agents in your roster but yes i did check he was still playing ball and is open for contract if some teams need him. (mostly these contracts last for days only or a month) i remember kevin jhonson get signed for a 10 game deal sometime in 2001. anyways thanks alex and the rest of you guys who made live 2000 a better game than it was 5-6 years ago.

I second the motion! (Y) Although I still play NBA Live 2000 because NBA Live 2005 runs pretty slow and glitchy on my PC. Although sometimes, I play NBA Live 2005 on rented Playstation2 consoles at SM by the hour. NBA 2005 is indeed a SIM game... much better than NBA Live 2004!

My 2000 game is at hold for the moment because Nba live 2005 is eating up my time for the moment. Its one of those games which will lead you to fully upgrade your PC because you know you will spend countless hours for playing it. although the players look cartoony( i prefer the 2000 look) the game is very much impressive and I just have a great time playing it. heres how i rate the 2 games

10 highest

nba live 95---------------------------------7
nba live 96---------------------------------3
nba live 97---------------------------------3
nba live 98----------------------------------5
nba live 99----------------------------------2
nba live 2000-------------------------------8.5
nba live 2001-------------------------------6
nba live 2002-------------------------------5
nba live 2003--------------------------------1
nba live 2004--------------------------------6
nba live 2005---------------------------------9.2
