Tecmo? without it would we have NBA Live?

Tecmo Super NBA Basketball In my Opinion was ahead of its time in terms of Basketball games.

Think back to the early 90's with games like Lakers V Bulls and Jordan V Bird.

Now as you probably all know that in the Vs series EA brought out you could only play in the Playoffs with the teams that made the Playoffs the Previous year ONLY.

Then along came Tecmo which I beleive was the basis on how Basketball sims were looked at and developed.

For its time It had features never seen before like the 82,56,26 game seasons from the 91-92 season.

all 27 NBA teams

and nearly every NBA Player.

so the question is, would NBA Live have existed if this game had not been brought out.

My feeling is that if this game had not been brought out a game like NBA Live would still have been released but much later than it did (Showdown 94/Live 95) Tecmo just sped up the process.

Thoughts?

NBA Live would have been released sooner or later by ea, there was a market for it and it was just a matter of time before someone tapped into it.

Double Dribble started it all. Theres no argument about it. Can't forget Hoops for Nintendo either, without that there'd be no 1 on 1 outside court mode. :D
