Adjusting Salary and Years?

I'd like to adjust some ratings to bring some old and retired players into relative parity for francishe mode.

For instance, I'd like to ensure that Majic Johnson and Allen Iverson play roughly the same number of years and not find out that after the first season Magic retires.

On a similar note, I'd like to ensure that what one has to pays Majic or Iverson is adjusted to be the same year dollars. I'd hate to see some team getting to pay pennies (based on 1980's salary) for Magic for 25 years while I couldn't afford to keep Iverson (based on 2000 dollars) for more than one season.

That said, what are the key fields in the the player/career data files to adjust to bring relative balance to the old / new players?

I see earsexp, birthdate, careerpkg which I suspect may trigger the old retirement issue?

Likewise, I see overallrtg and salary which probably affect trades and cost?

Do I need to adjust all of those or only some? Are there other relavant fields.

Any help would be appreciated.

Adjusting the birthdate will make the players play for longer, e.g if you made magics birthdate end with 1977 he will play for over 10 years more (i think). Career package is how well a player improves or decreases (a is best) Salary can be changed i'd say 10,000,000 would be a good value by todays standards, it means if he does get traded it will be for good players, not just losers

Thanks. How does yearsexp affect franchise play or is it just an information item?

I assume that overallrtg need not be adjusted unless I want to turn some rookie into an overnight superstar. For example, if I wanted to turn Juan Dixon's rating to make them comparable to a Joe Dumars.
