Injured players in new roster

Hi, I just downloaded the the updated roster and would like to know if it is possible to use people who were injured when the roster was created. For example, Derek Anderson of Portland is in red (i assume because he was injured when the update was created) and can not be brought into the starting line up or traded. Using the updated roster, is there anyway to make these players available for exhibition and or new season play?
