First, welcome!
:D
But, if you don't explain the problems better, i don' know... :?
Do you preserve the same graphic card?
Do you have any new software? (for example, when i installed my new DSL modem i had a lot of problems with the game's stability)
...
:?: :?:

well ... a game never suddenly stops working for no reason ... someone, if not you, may have installed something, like a new program, new hardware or new drivers ... you should ask around you to people using the computer you're playing live on, it may help you to discover the truth :)

anyway, does the game work in software mode ?

Sun Dec 28, 2003 2:52 pm

hey...good point...hmm software mode dont work eihter...says like nba.ico or somethin has to close automatically nd asks if i want to send the report to microsoft

your not trying to run the game with nbawin.icd are you?
delete the entire nbalive2000 folder, do a reinstall, and try to play without touching anything in the folder.... like use the original exe and not a cracked one etc....

if it still gives you that error...you can try:
-updating your graphics card driver, mobo driver, etc..etc...
-direct x...
-use original dbfs, vivs....no patches
-format c: /u

it doesnt really matter if your box is xp or not, im running live 2000 on xp... with the following crap:
some onboard soundcard
5 years+ old TNT2
950mhz duron
256ram
windows xp
NOT the latest nvidia drivers.... but the 44.03 since my card is a tnt2, the new drivers are really unneccessary

so dont tell me xps got problems.... the only thing i cant play is franchise

if you've tried all of the above.... then

You know what I did when that happened. I deleted the live exe file and renamed the icd file as the exe file and all of a sudden it worked. Strange but true...

the exe works perfectly for me.... but the icd gives me the submit to microsoft message :P

Forgive me, but I know Jack about this stuff. How do you run it using exe instead of icd? I don't see a exe file anywhere. Sorry if this is elementary.

You might need to specify windows to show extensions so you can see it. You can do it from control panel or from the same directory. From my computer: click tools then folder options. Go to the View tab and uncheck "Hide file extensions for unknown files", then you will be able to see extensions.

You can as well change the view to details, there it might specified what kind of file is each one.

Ok I did that and changed the name. Now I get the same message only this time it says nbawinexe has a problem and needs to close. Now what do I do?

*Uninstall the freaky game.
*Go back to the EA folder and copy the NBA Live 2000 folder somewhere else or rename it. (that way you will keep the patches)
*Install the game again.
*Run & play the game. (before moving & installing patches in the new folder)
*If it is working good, copy the patches you had from the old folder to the new one.
*Play the game once again, if it is working then you can delete the old folder, if not probably some of the patches are damaged or won't work with the settings the game has.

I have never had any patches for this game. Its just like I just bought it. I have changed nothing.

Ok, so just skip the patches thing, delete the whole nba live 2000 folder & reinstall the game.
