salaries.ini

well, as many of you may know, i'm currently working on a 2003-04 roster started from scratch (available at http://www.alexsite.fr.tc), but i've got a problem with salaries in franchise mode : the salary cap is at 1 000 000 while some players earns more than 8 000 000 a year, making the teams about 22 000 000 under the cap.

As the roster was started from scratch, I put back my original salaries.ini from the CD, but the problem wasn't solved :(

so my question is : which files do affect the salaries in nba live 2000 ?

thanks for the answers guys

sorry I don't know the answer to this but I have a question already.

Do you intend to make the salary look realistic later on? like Ben's rosters did?

Anyway, I've not finished my current franchise in Ben's patch yet but I'm already thrilled to think about playing Cleveland with Lebron James in your patch. And my Blazers ,who are thin in depth, too. Very impressive that your rosters are up to the minute.

I really appreciate your hard work
thx

Individual player salaries can be modified by editing the appropriate field in players.dbf. The salary cap attributes can be modified by editing the salary.ini file.

i know that andrew, what i didn't mentionned is that without modifying players salaries (i only modified contracts lengths), many players salaries are already over the salary cap !

first, i though that was because of the modified salaries.ini file that was installed by ben's roster, so i put the original salaries.ini file from the CD.
But that didn't change the problem !

I'll try once again, but I feel astonished

thanks for the relpy andrew :)

NBA Live 2000 recalculates player salaries when you modify the overall ratings. If you had Ben's modified salary.ini file, the players would have been assigned new salaries based on the modified values (ie realistic amounts).

If you've restored the original salary.ini file, editing player ratings (just going in, changing a rating then changing it back) should be enough to recalculate the salaries based on the original points system. Otherwise, you can change them manually by editing the SALARY field in players.dbf.

thanks andrew
