Roster Assistance [Live 2000]!

Postby mortalsoul3 on Sat Aug 27, 2005 2:37 am

Fellas --

Can saved rosters be combined in Live 2000? That is, I've downloaded Alex's latest 2005-06 roster, and I'd like it to combine its data files with one of my old rosters, which include my own created teams. And, unfortunately, I don't have the time to go about recreating these teams within Alex's 2005-06 data files. Is roster/data combination possible? If so, how so . . .

Thanks again, fellas. And very solid work on the 2005-06 update, Alex . . . I'm still tweaking rosters in light of recent acquisitions (my man Songalia from Wake Forest to the Bulls as of this morning). Peace.

it should be possible but it should also cost you a damn lot of work... I don't know if it's worth it as I regulary release a new version, so you'll have to do the work every time... Why do you wanna merge your rosters?

I was considering running multiple created teams (my own teams, that is) in a season or franchise against your updated 2005-06 roster . . . plus, I was under the impression that you were considering changing the focus of Alexsite to a more recent version of NBA Live. Further, I really did not want to go about recreating my teams within your new roster. I think I'll scrap all above plans, if there's no easy way to make this happen. Thanks though, Alex. Peace.

No no, Alexsite will stay 100% dedicated to Live 2000 :) It's not that hard to merge some of your teams in my roster: i'd roughly say take a dbf editor to copy and paste teams in the teams.dbf file, and players in the players.dbf file. Then attribute them a new playerid, and make sure the value in team is correct (either the number related to your created team, or 29 to put them in FA)

Cool. Thanks, man. I'll make an attempt at merging via dbf editor.

And good news on the commitment level to 2000 on your site. Hip-hip . . .
