Graphics are weird

I have just upgraded my graphics card and bought a new monitor this Christmas, and now I can no longer get any colors in the game. Actually, all the pre-game screens look ok, but when a match starts I don't see the textures and colors of the players. I also get the same problem when I look at a player's information on the roster (i.e. picture does not have textures or colors, just the basic head shape).
As I'm sure anyone willing to help will want to know my PC's config, here it goes:
P4 1.6 GHz
512 MB RAM
over 30 GB of free space on the HD
new graphic card: nVidia GeForce FX5200, 128 MB RAM
Direct X 9.0
new monitor: SAMSUNG SyncMaster 712N, running at 1024X768 (but tried lowering this to 640 X 480 at 256 colors, to no avail).

So far I've been able to run every other game I had installed (and some that I could not before I upgraded the video card) but would still like to be able to play my trusted NBA Live 2001...

Any clues anyone????
