NBA Live 2020 HWC Released

All,

I released a "Preseason Edition" of NBA Live 2020 HWC, which is based off NBA Live 96, but with updated rosters (as of 07/31/2019).

I think you'll like this one. More accurate team rankings and attributes for the 2019-2020 season, so it feels more like the original, but with updated rosters!

Good stuff! I've been tempted to do the same for NBA Live 96 PC, as part of our ongoing 25th Anniversary of NBA Live celebrations.

The latest update, Rev E, has finally been released. This one includes the 2020 All-Star and Trade Deadline updates. This will probably be the last edition for this year.

So, I went ahead and created a "Rev F"... because COVID-19.

The main changes are:
*fixed everyone's "stamina" via the minutes per game (MPG) setting I found; more accurate
*upgraded James Harden to Michael Jordan level of buckets (w/less hops, but more 3PTS)
*retired, hid, and improved Vince Carter

This is really fun, especially with the All-Star Teams!

Interesting! Would you happen to have any formulas for that? I'd be interested to try it out in the PC version.

Here's what I found,

After comparing 1995 NBA player's minutes per game (MPG) statistics to the NBA live editor's spreadsheet data, I found out column "CC" must be for stamina.

In particular, initial testing showed the integer value ranges from 0-20, which is half a player's MPG value, rounded up. For example, if a player averaged 20 minutes a game, then their CC value is 10. If they play 33 minutes, then add one (34) to make it even, and divide it in half and get 17.

What started me down this rabbit hole is I remembered Latrell Sprewell played lots of minutes at GSW during that time. Then, after using this page for comparison, it verified I was headed the correct way.

Now, there *seems* to be a limit/cap of 40 MPG per player--a max "CC" value of 20--but this hasn't been thoroughly tested. However, I figured someone playing that many minutes per game is good enough.

Doesn't look like that translates to the PC version's values, unfortunately.

All players have their MPG (or stamina) tweaked, when applicable. Regarding other tweaks, I didn't keep a full record, but I'd guess about 15% were tweaked--mainly well known players and sometimes a couple of bench players.

As for TecmoBowl.org site, well it was fun while it lasted. I also posted the latest copy in the appropriate NLSC downloads section. Worst case, you can always ping me for a copy .
