Editing courts and creating a team

Postby Tichmall on Mon Jun 15, 2009 1:36 am

Hello, I'm a French player of NBA Live 2000 who likes to edit sport games in general. So I started to edit NBA Live 2000 but I have two questions :

- Does somebody have a tutorial to change the lines on the courts, and the colour around it ? I can't find a tutorial online about this... I heard there was some hexadecimal edit to do. So if you have a tutorial about this, feel free to post it there, it'll help me a lot.

- In this game, can we give custom jerseys, logo and court to a team we created in the game ? Because I want to create my own team without replacing any of the existing franchises.

Thanks !

Hello xpoing, maybe you could post a tutorial on here if you know how the courts work, it would help all the people who want to edit them like me (I saw several demands about that problem without any answer... and there is nothing about the courts in the tutorial section of the main nba-live website).

I managed to assign court, jersey and logos to a created team, so there're just the court's colors that are bugging me. :)

Okay, no problem : tichmall@yahoo.fr

Thank you xpoing, it's cool that there is someone who keeps all the old patches and tutorials which we can't find on the web anymore.

I believe seat colour is governed by values in the database, though it's been a long time since I did any work with NBA Live 2000 so I could be mistaken.

Ah yes you're right ! I saw the "chairs colours" line in the dbf file when I first opened it a few weeks ago.
But to be honest I don't dare to edit dbf files anymore since I get the "stack trace" error when I do.

But thank you for reminding me about that Andrew.

Which program are you using to edit the databases? DB Commander should be safe.

I think that's the one : DB Commander 2000. I still have it for only some days as it's a trial...

EDIT : I can't find the line corresponding to the seats again... do you know in what dbf file it is ?

I think it's in the Teams.dbf if memory serves me right. One of the sections would have a name that should refer to the chair color.

HI Tichmall,

If you want you could send me the court and the jersey of your fictional team and I'll send them to the nba live 2000 comunity :)

cheers

Sounds like a good idea, but I still have the sunday jersey to do, and change the seats colors. Once I'm done I'll send my fictional team to you.

@tichmall

I'm not aware of any way to change the seats colors via dbf files. This court feature is part of the court fsh file. That part - tset - is originally from the file common.viv.

Ah ! That's why I didn't find it in the dbf file, it was for an other version of NBA Live.
Thanks hentzman, I'll check this tset part.

Sorry to disturb again, but I don't find that tset part in any of the courts fsh files nor in common.viv... should it really be in there ? :?

If you got the latest or at least newer court versions, open em in ea graph. Some of them have the tset. In the common.viv look at staa.fsh, stab.fsh, stac.fsh, sftstaa.fsh or other court versions for the tset part.

It has to work now.
