controller (keyboard) lockdown/freeze during gameplay

I've been playing Live 2000 off and on since it came out and I've never had this problem before now:

During gameplay, periodically the keyboard (which i use for my controller, yeah old school) will freeze/lock up. The player I'm controlling will continue moving in the direction he was going when the freeze hit until he reaches the corner.

Sometimes this clears up after 15-30 seconds, sometimes it continues for so long that I just reboot. But it renders the game unplayable either way, obviously.

It's gotta be some new technology that's causing this, as I played the game last winter/spring and it worked fine.

Any ideas?

Anderson,
When NBA Live 2k was actually working for me , i often had that problem too....im not really sure what was causing it, but it really annoyed me too. So ur not alone!!!

haha and here i thought it was my old busted keyboard that was the problem!
