Sun May 25, 2003 2:19 pm
i downloaded the remove dstats program and cannot get it to work. also what exact file are the dstats in?i did like the instructions said and their were no changes.
Sun May 25, 2003 2:21 pm
The DSTATS are in the players.dbf file.
Sun May 25, 2003 2:27 pm
thank you.thats the file i tried it with.is their anything else you are supposed to do besides what the instructions say?
Sun May 25, 2003 2:35 pm
Not really...just make sure you've entered the correct command, you re-load the correct file (the one you've edited), and that you're working with an undamaged NBA Live 2001 players.dbf file.
Sun May 25, 2003 2:39 pm
how do you reload the file?
Sun May 25, 2003 2:54 pm
If you're editing a saved roster file, then you need to re-load the roster from the Files screen once you start the game.
Sun May 25, 2003 3:16 pm
i see what your talking about.i was trying to do it in mpdata but now it gives a message saying it cannot open file.
Sun May 25, 2003 3:25 pm
Yeah, you should be using it with the files in the saves folders, either saved seasons/franchises/playoffs, or saved rosters.
Sun May 25, 2003 3:29 pm
yes thats what i'm doing now, i saved the roster and then tried in save file but it said cannot open file.
Sun May 25, 2003 3:43 pm
Perhaps the file you are working with has been corrupted...have you edited the roster file you are working with in any other way before using RMDStats?
Sun May 25, 2003 3:44 pm
yes thats what i'm doing now, i saved the roster and then tried in save file but it said cannot open file.
Sun May 25, 2003 3:46 pm
i changed some positions in player edit.
Sun May 25, 2003 3:51 pm
RMDStats can't open the file, or NBA Live 2001 can't load the file?
Sun May 25, 2003 4:01 pm
it says error:cannot open fileand then file name.
Sun May 25, 2003 4:04 pm
Are you using the correct command? You may have specified an invalid path to the file you wish to edit.
Sun May 25, 2003 4:13 pm
there isn't a command instructions say to drag icon of file on to icon of remove dstats file.
Sun May 25, 2003 6:39 pm
Replace those files with original DBFs (from origdb folder) if you didn't change much, and then use RMDStats again.
P.S. You can remove DSTATS from any DBF-file (not only those in SAVES folder), but changing files from origdb folder not needed, as NBA Live uses DBFs in workdb folder , and when you change something in that folder it copies them in curdb also.

Ah, you're using the Windows method.
If you're running Windows 98, you'll be able to access the MS-DOS prompt.
1. Copy the players.dbf file you wish to edit to a new folder. Called it LIVE
2. Extract a copy of RMDStats to the LIVE folder
3. Open the MS-DOS prompt, type CD\LIVE and press <ENTER>
4. Type the following command:
RmDStats players.dbf and press <ENTER>
Alternatively...
1.Extract RMDStats to the main NBA Live 2001 folder (by default, C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA Live 2001)
2. Open the MS-DOS prompt. Change to the NBA Live 2001 folder
(Note: Because MS-DOS does not recognise Windows folder names, you will have to type C:\Progra~1\EASPOR~1\NBALIV~1 to access the NBA Live 2001 folder.
If you have more than one NBA Live installed, you may have to substitute NBALIV~2, NBALIV~3 etc accordingly.)
3. Type the following command:
RmDStats \saves\000\players.dbf and press <ENTER>
Remember to substitute the number of the save slot as necessary.

none of that worked, i either get invalid directory or bad command or file. i even uninstalled and reinstalled the game i was wondering if there a roster patch with dstats removed i'm tired of playing franchises with no development for the real players.
Mon May 26, 2003 1:26 pm
As far as I know, my roster patch (the NLSC roster patch) is the only one currently being updated. Since there are advantages to DSTATS, I haven't removed them.
Mon May 26, 2003 4:05 pm
is there any other way to get rid of dstats without having to buy a editor?
Mon May 26, 2003 6:41 pm
You can get rid of them using the NBA Live 2001 Toolkit. None of the editors on the NLSC require purchase. The unregistered version of DB Commander is still fully functional...but if you're going to remove DSTATS with an editor, I'd recommend downloading the Toolkit.
Mon May 26, 2003 6:56 pm
what would be the easiest way to get rid of dstats?
Mon May 26, 2003 7:11 pm
Normally, RMDStats, but since it doesn't seem to be working for you, deleting them via the NBA Live 2001 Toolkit (they're the stats under the "Development Stats" tab) is the easiest way. You still have to do that one player at a time, but it's the quickest and easiest way if RMDStats won't work.

thank you for all your help but it says it only works with ms access and it can't be downloaded over the internet.
