Backporting of NBA Live Cyberfaces

Hi all,
What is the "official" code of conduct for backporting cyberfaces from newer NBA live versions to live 2000? Do you just send the author an email and ask for permission and if they allow it add their name to the file?

There is no code of conduct unless you are redistributing it.

... but if you want to release it, the best thing is as you mentionned to mail the original author to ask the permission. And don't forget to give him credits in the bat file and in the readme if you add one.

Most of the time the patcher accepts but a very few of them remain reluctant for their own reasons... then you gotta rework with another basis or do it yourself
