Help! I have new info. regarding jersey patch problems!

Fri May 02, 2003 4:01 am

Okay, here's the deal:

I have at least 20 jersey patches, and only two of them work (the red Cleveland Cavs 2004 jerseys and a Denver Nuggets patch from nbalive.org).....the problem is when I click on the .bat files--they don't the .fsh files to the art/ingames/teamdata/teamdata.viv folder. They remain stuck in my main NBA Live 2000 folder...keep in mind, I have gfxpax, blotch, and eapatch. Do I need newer versions of these tools? Is that why the Cleveland Jersey installed? I am at a loss....oh, and one other thing--my New Orleans Hornet Jersey patch doesn't appear on the players except for when you play a game. I am having problems, been having them for a while now...surely somebody knows what's screwed up...I have uninstalled my game and re-installed it a million times. It's completely installed. Still, they don't work. Help me, please!!!

I think I know what the problem is.

When you install the patches, the util does not move the .fsh files to another folder, it repacks them into the already existing teamdata.viv and leaves the originals in the NBA Live 2000 folder, once you are done, you can delete the files in the main NBA Live 2000 folder because it is done with them. the way to make sure they are installed is to open up the game and play a game using teams with updated jerseys.

That's what I'm talkin' about, gamewiz....they don't get put in the teamdata.viv folder.....why doesn't this happen? It used to work, now it doesn't. Why would only 2 out of 20 work? Is there something wrong with NBALive.org's patches?

I had ca. the same problem with my NBA Live 2001, so i can probably help you (maybe not, 'cuz i don't have Live 2000, but i can try :) ). Do you have Windows XP?

Do you mean they are never packed up in the teamdata.viv folder, or just never moved out of the NBA Live main folder?Because once it packs the files in the teamdata.viv the orig. ones are still in the main NBA Live DIR.

Gamewiz,

Yes I do have Windows XP. And the files are not moved out of the Main NBA Live 2000 folder. They just sit there. When I hit the .bat file, they install in like .00001 seconds---a quick black flash of the install screen. Sometimes they take 3 seconds but the black screen reads "adding 3, replaced 0" or something like that...okay, I'm probably confusing you now. Any thoughts?

If you ran the batch file they are already installed.

The point I was trying to make is that when it installs the files it does not remove the OLD ones from the main NBA Live directory, it keeps them there, but it does copy the original files into teamdata.viv which is an archive, so if you browse that folder you wont see them there.

It seems you have them already installed, so start up the game and see if teams like the Sonics or Hornets have the jerseys updated and if they do you can delete the old ones from the main NBA Live DIR.

Indeed, the point may be that bat files purely don't work under Windows XP as it's a DOS command, deleted in XP (thanks to this Dear Bill Gates :-x)

Yeah, Alexboy, you're right. I updated my Drivers a couple of months ago when I bought Live 2003. I bet that's why the don't work.

Aaah, i had that problem with Live 2001 batch files too.
My solution was to simply right click the file, select properties, and choose Compability (sp?), and then select "Win98" or "Win95"... try that! Good luck! :)
