It's because your wallpaper is damn too ugly.

Seriously, try to launch the game in software mode

Is NBA Live 2000 playable in XP?

Mon Nov 07, 2005 1:55 am

On some computers depending on how old or new they are. My computer is brand new and top of the line and 2000 works on it fine! Strange... it didn't used to work at all on my computer. :?

Start > Programs > EA Sports > NBA Live 2000 > 3D Setup

There you will find the option to switch to software mode. It's just to check if the problem comes from your video card.

Yaya, but you're in software mode, with very ugly pixels... Try to update your video card drivers... What's your videocard by the way?

Wed Nov 09, 2005 9:20 am

RADEON 9550

Wed Nov 09, 2005 12:16 pm

I switched it back and now it works.

I have the ATI Radeon 9200 SE and it didn't work for me too... But I downloaded tweaked drivers on Omegadrivers.net and everything went fine after... But I can't ensure you it will work for you too, but at last these tweaked drivers are meant to improve your video card performances and to increase compability

Hey streetballaz1, if you still need help , let me know!

Mon Nov 21, 2005 9:23 am

I've now the same problem. I have a GeForce FX5200 and in software-mode all works fine. When I switch, I see this damned error-message. Has anybody an idea?

Mon Nov 21, 2005 9:41 pm

did you try tweaked drivers from omegacorner?

Sat Nov 26, 2005 3:24 am

I had that problem for a while, even after I added a GeForce 6600 GT 128MB card to the machine. For me, the error was caused by memory management. When running 1GB of RAM, the Live 2000 would crash with the "Unhandled Exception Error". So, I removed a SIMM and ran the game on 512MB, to perfection, at maximum settings. :?

It wasn't the memory (both modules tested fine), and it wasn't the MoBo (both seats tested fine). It was the way data was switched between the two modules! Go figure.... :o

BTW, AlexBoom IS a legend. Thanks for keeping Live 2000 alive!!
