help- can't run live 2000

i've been using live 2000 all of last year when i was using windows 98. i recently upgraded to xp and now i can't run the game. it installs fine, but when i double click on the shortcut icon, it doesn't go to the 'play, install, re-install, etc' screen, it then gives me a " nbawin.icd has encountered a problem and will close". i've right-clicked on the icon, selected properties, selected compatibility, checked the windows 98-me box, checked and unchecked the other 3 boxes under that (experimented), but it still doesn't work. i've completely erased the program and re-installed it with no luck. i saw another thread that mentioned a "unhandled exception" error, which i had before, and mentioned it worked after he went back to the nvidia 30.82 driver instead of the 40.72. i tried that too- it did the same thing. any help would be appreciated. i'm using windows xp home edition, 512mb ram, geforce 3 ti 500 video card

also forgot to mention: when i installed the 30.82 drivers, i kept getting messages that ms doesn't recognize the logos, or something like that
