What's up with the infatuation with Live 2003?

IMO, Live 2003 has unbelievable graphics, but I have so many qualms with this failed attempt at a basketball simulation! For starters, the gameplay is HORRID, too many dunks, fastbreaks, even with DBF patches. But still, everyone seems to be making matches for this game. Why? I assume these are the same patchers who grew up with Live 2000. Live 2000 blows Live 2003 away. And at least our referee runs the court instead of sitting in front of the scorers table. How realistic is that?

I agree. I own every issue of live, 1995-2003. 2003's graphics are the best I've ever seen in any basketball game, but the gameplay leaves much to be desired. There are way too many fast breaks, which makes it seem like the court is too short or something. Plus, I have guys that have no business shooting 3 pointers averaging 50% plus from down town. Not being able to save during games sucks too, as was the case in other issues since 2000. I still play 2000 the most, by far, and with a decent system, the graphics are not at all bad.
