Unbeatable Teams

Postby Alex Italo on Fri Feb 07, 2003 12:09 am

Every time I start a franchise drafting players, one of the CPU teams assemble a lineup just unbeatable on simulated games after a couple years.
After a few years the Clippers had as starting lineup:

Duncan (88) Minimum Wages!
Nowitzki (92) (they took him from me, because he refused to sign a new contract)
Marion (90) Minimum Wages!
Bryant (96)
Francis (90)
and a bench filled with above 80 players.

They ended winning the championship 5 years in a row, losing just 15 matches in that period (season-playoffs combined)... My team is very good (60+ wins every season) but never could handle LAC and IND (another monster team in my game). I guess that's why Nowitzki abandoned my team, tired of having his ass kicked...

I don't know how the CPU could sign 90+ players paying minimum wages... that's very hard to believe.
Anyone saw something like this?

yeah, I'm getting that with Portland and New York. I get 65+ wins with Toronto but the Blazers always have a 70+ win record

Before this site was revamped, there was a posting which referred to a patch and/or a method of changing the minimum salary per player, and team salary caps. Nowitski should be getting top dollar. . . but if the minimum salary is based on the original "points" system, then other teams will pick him up dirt cheap.

 I'm not sure if there is an archive of the info from one to two years ago. Good luck!

Is this a superstar mode? I played like 30 franchise teams but couldn't find teams like that. Sometimes shit happens when free agents are looking for teams. Some don't even want to join my team for decent amount of money and then sign with the other team at minimum. that really sux.

Maybe i was not paying attention to other teams. I didn't check the rosters of all the other 28 teams so far.

Anyway could you send the franchise saved file to me if you still have it?
I'd really like to play your team against them. And what version of patch did you install?

My email is requester2@hotmail.com

Thanks in advance.

Yes. It was Superstar Mode. However, I was just managing the team by simulation (not really playing). I don't know if the difficulty level makes any difference on simulated results. Controlling the team ingame is a complete different story.

I played a few franchises until the end and sometimes along the way the CPU does that. Anyway, once I managed to win 21 championships in 25 years just losing the first 2 seasons building the team and 2 losing unexpectably the conference finals when my team was the first seed). I suppose my team was that kind of team but the CPU can't complain... :D

You'll probably find some teams really good. The other side of the table is also probable... There are teams that never reach the 10-win mark...

I used Ben's roster patch but unfortunely I don't have those savegames anymore. Every time I end a franchise I use to delete the old savegames to save HD space,

Ow, you were just simulating the game. Anyway if you had the file, it would be much fun for me to play against that super team. Since you don't have it, it's ok now. Whenever I play, I always check only my opponents' stats. I've never found those super teams. I should check every team now.

If you face that kind of team during the franchise again, please send the file to me. hehe... thx
