Classic Players in Myleague Franchise Get Awards?

I'm wondering, because of the following situation.

I added Michael Jordan to the current Bulls for a Myleague Franchise. I let the games play out CPU v CPU. Last season MJ led the league in scoring. He was not MVP, wasn't on any All NBA team.

This season MJ is leading the league in scoring. He has 5.2 RBP and 6.1 APG to go with his league leading 32.3 PPG. But he's not listed in the running for MVP or All NBA team.

Are classic players added to teams ineligible for league awards in a franchise? Anyone see a classic player win such awards? In 2K15 MJ on the current Bulls did win MVP awards.
