Greg Anthony to replace Steve Kerr, more news and even more soon

Fri Sep 11, 2015 8:16 pm

Apparently Greg Anthony is replacing Steve Kerr.

Also some hands-on impressions from Dustin:
  • New Playoff structure will ship day one with #NBA2K16. No patch needed.
  • "Foot planting has been completely redone."
  • Between-quarter interviews during games. John Henson just talked about how he can improve this season.
  • Just finished Milwaukee vs. Atlanta (CPU). Defense much more refined...makes you play harder and smarter.
  • One quarter into Cavs vs. Kings (CPU). Difference between CLE's quickness and MIL's length very apparent.
  • Nice lob pass from Love to JR. Smith followed the pass from over the shoulder.
  • TONS of updated player hairstyles in NBA 2K16 from summer. Sounds like CAP could be in for a treat.
  • Players had COMPLETE body scans into the game. Yes, even legs.

LD2K on twitter:
You'll have to EARN the best cards next year. Good luck.

Better Greg Anthony than Reggie Miller or Chris Webber, I suppose, but that would've been closer to an authentic NBA on TNT broadcast, save for the branding. Of course, Doris Burke is there, and she's ESPN too, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Game is sounding great.

In MyTEAM? The value of packs is already kind of disappointing. The best cards shouldn't be handed out too easily, but they shouldn't be impossible to attain, either.

It was a response on the fact that they ave away lots of "high-end" cards via social media.

I would like something like reward table for each completed game, where you get to pick from 5 hidden choices with better odds for the winner. Each choice could have card, MyTeam money, VC, support cards, etc as possible reward. Maybe give two picks to the winner.

I'm 100% sure someone official on Twitter posted that Greg Anthony will be it, way way in the past. Even before the guy got arrested (why the fuck is prostitution illegal in the USA lol?!)

Unless you were very quick, and in the right timezone, chances are you'd miss out on those anyway. Again, given that the value of packs isn't exceptional, a few more giveaways would seem to be in order, not less.

Or maybe that's the reasoning behind that. To make everything more accessible to all the players around the world.

I never, ever, ever had the chance to be even awake when those special codes were dropped by 2k. They were dropped anywhere between 2:00 and 5:30 am in my timezone and I always had school the second day. It was a pain in the ass. Meanwhile, all of my online opponents had at least one player won with a code so I gave up on myteam. Winning was tough.

As far as his commentary is concerned, I'm not a fan. I wasn't a huge fan of him as a player either, but I do hold him in much higher regard as a player than I do an announcer. During the 2015 Playoffs, it seemed like he and C-Webb were having a contest to see who could do the worst job on commentary.

Agreed....both are irritants broadcasting games, especially Webber.....

That's great about the full body scans but i wonder what they will do for all the retro players. Could they use current players body scans for retro players as a guide? Like maybe Chuck Hayes body scan might be good for Barkleys body type for example.
Jordan looks so sickly skinny and nothing like himself in 2k15(kobe body scan?). Wilt is not Wilt without those massive shoulders and upper chest with short strong neck(dwight body scan?). Shaq of course with his bulky frame(should just scan current shaq). YAO with his massive tree trunk calves but skinny upper body. Ben Wallace with his football physique. Karl Malone with his body builder physique. Barkley with his thick endomorph body type. Etc.

Whatever happens, i just hope they don't look the same as they have in the past few games. They looked awful from body type to cyberface.

pretty sure when they do "body scans" or "face scans", they have that rig of 12+ DSLR cameras that take pictures of players from every angle which works for textures, not body shape

But i've noticed varying lifelike body shapes. Or is it just my eyes deceiving me?

My understanding is that they're using them to properly capture and sculpt body shapes as well, the same way they do headshapes on the face scans.

The cameras take lots of photos and the cpu creates a digital mesh from it.

It's a double standard in action: girls want the same rights as boys have but refuse to be photographed topless ;-)
