I don't think there'll be college ball, I think the harsh reality phone call will mean you're inelegible and have to go the free agent route, maybe through the D-League, maybe through the Euroleague.

Then if it's chronological like you say, college will be packed into a very generic very short cinematic, because right after you pick college, you go pro. I think this is more likely than my previous idea.

I never understood what americans find about this school-teams. Who the fuck wants to watch fucking Kids play basketball at a terrible level, when you can watch fucking adults play the on the elite-level...

I think you will start at the same place but your decision about which school you go to or how long you stay affects your starting age

I'd be surprised if there's any college basketball in terms of gameplay, but it obviously factors into the story. That's a nice touch.
Also, Summer League confirmed for MyLEAGUE and MyGM.

Now that I think about it, last year 2K implemented an engine that can simulate an entire college season alongside the nba season for MyLeague. I remember leftos writing about it.
The engine would also create story lines for prospects so that you would know more about them prior to drafting them. If they have found a way to tie this system to MyCareer then it could very well mean that we will not actually play the collegiate games but just sim through a collegiate season.
I'm just thinking about what 2K already has in the game that can be used and what makes the most sense.
I didn't buy 2K15 because I knew modding would be difficult for pc and 2K14 on pc has UBR mod which is all I need.
I would like to get 2K16 this year and the news so far seems to be great but I will not get too hyped for these tid bits of info until some things are confirmed. Plus all the news seems to only focus around MyCareer which I'm not a fan of since switching to a linear story line.
I do think if this game does allow some college game play it will be a hit, especially if the modding community can pry this thing open.

Excellent point. That would be the most logical solution, since they don't have the NCAA license and thus couldn't represent real schools in gameplay in terms of logos and jerseys.

Things that caught my eye:
Completely upgrade an Attribute Discipline in MyCAREER.Return of last year's attribute system.
Attend 10 social events in MyCAREER.From the sound of it, it's some optional part?
Give your opinion on the Freq signature shoe.Wait, opinion? It's like the Frequency guy is someone else?
Also this "Vic" character keeps appearing. Agent with bad agenda?
Win all 10 games of 'Greatest of All-Time' in Play Now Online.Greatest of All-Time? Challenges are really back?
Relocate an NBA team to a new city in MyGM/MyLEAGUE.SuperSonics are back.
Successfully negotiate a 3-Team Trade in MyGM/MyLEAGUE.Leftos?

Maybe it's a McDonald's All American type all-star game like how NBA Live does it

Yeah I'd guess something like that, as far as pre-NBA gameplay.

It is worlds more entertaining and competitive than watching spoiled, overpaid grown men flop all over the court and cry for fouls.

could be legit news, will have to wait for official confirmation though.

Certainly seems highly likely. If so, then logically we'll be able to select from one of those colleges, play a few games against the other teams that are included, and then proceed to the NBA. That's still pretty awesome.

I fall somewhere in the middle of those two stances. I appreciate college basketball and can see why people like it, even prefer it over the NBA, but to me the NBA is the premiere league and the one I'm most interested in watching.

Vic is actually short for Victor and he will be your rival. Something like Jackson Ellis last year, and Dante Exum this year(kinda).
This isn't for sure, just guessing.

Maybe they'll have generic jerseys/logos for all of the other listed colleges in the game.

Why would player get an ultimatum from the team owner about him if he was your rival? What kind of "true agenda" could have a rival?
I think an agent or your high school/college friend on your team would be more fitting.
Fri Jul 17, 2015 11:22 pm
I suppose you could be given an ultimatum over your rival, if the personal nature of the rivalry was somehow causing a disruption to the team. I agree though, I think he's more likely a friend, agent, or perhaps even both.
Kind of a shame that the achievements sort of spoil the story in broad strokes, though. It defeats the purpose of having such the mode heavily driven by a storyline. I'm still not the biggest fan of that approach, but at least let the major twists and turns be surprises.

That's what happens when today's gamers need a pat on the back every time they press "Start game" :/

I'll put my hand up and admit that I start shooting for some of them eventually. Sometimes they're fun challenges, or encourage you to do something a little different, something off the beaten track in a video game. I treat them as something fun though, not Serious Business or a point of pride. Sometimes, it's a way for me to extend my experience with a particular game.
