How editable is 2K16?

Sat Jun 25, 2016 8:39 am

Hey all, with the Steam sale on I'm interested in picking up NBA 2K16, but I'd like to know how editable it is, especially compared to 2K13.

For an example of what I want, this is me: http://kotaku.com/my-crazy-russian-modd ... 1709318715

So I like to have a robust franchise mode (playing all 30 teams!), be able to edit all stats, have historical draft classes (with cyberfaces!) that I can also fiddle with, and so on. Without a Red MC I'm not certain 2K16 will work for this. Anyone able to convince/dissuade me?

Rosters are definitely not as easily modified in NBA 2K16 compared to NBA 2K13. All custom rosters must be in shared in-game as well, as the save files are tied to your Steam profile.

If the range of mods and ability to mod is the deciding factor, then NBA 2K13 is more moddable. However, NBA 2K16 is a far superior game.

Well, given that Red MC doesn't work with Windows 10, 2K13 isn't that editable for me anymore either.

How about draft classes? How well does the simulation function going 5 or 10 years into the future?

Custom Draft Classes are still in the game, and shareable in-game. MyGM and MyLEAGUE are a huge step up over Association to say the least.

All right, last question: can I play as all 30 teams in those modes? (putting "My" in front of a mode makes me wary of their pseudo-roleplaying design.)

In MyLEAGUE, yes. In MyGM, no.

Cool, thanks! If I do get it...I'd imagine I'll be back here soon enough.
