Help w/ FRAPS and GIF Creation

Whats up everybody! I am needing some assistance with trying to learn how to use FRAPS and be able to turn gameplay video into short GIF videos. The reason for this is that I would like to be able to give previews of my signature shot edits. I've been toying around with FRAPS for a couple of days but I am pretty lost. Any help would be awesome. By the way, I tried to post in the FAQ section but it said that I didn't have permission to post there.

You should post in Main section.
You should record it as video and then convert it to GIF, if that's possible, not really sure.

In Photoshop you can import mp4's, edit them to your liking and save them as an animated gif.

If you don't have Photoshop, GIMP might offer the same feature.

Click hotkey for recording, letters should turn from yellow to red.

In that case for anybody who wants to know what I did:

FRAPs was waaaaay easier than I thought. Guess I was just shell shocked at the thought of recording gameplay. I just set my save folder of the videos, put it to record at half size and then started recording.

After that I used internet based conversion sites to turn the videos I made (avi files) into gifs!
Now I just need to upload the vids somewhere so I can be able to share them on here. I will probably use photobucket unless someone knows someplace better?
