Few thoughts on Live Practice

Postby iamSamke on Wed Nov 11, 2015 8:06 am

I'm just going to say what I think about this feature. Not expecting from anyone to reply, I just had to share this.

First of all, scheduled drills are way too boring. We have' Boston drill', which is so annoying. I don't see any option to change camera view, I am not used to play with default one, I always play with 2K camera. Second drill is '35', which isn't so bad, but I hate when I move to other shooting spot and while coach/teammate is passing, I move out of bounds, or too close. Maybe it is better to automatically move, not manually. Same thing for all shooting drills. And for the end we have the drill where you are losing few points and then you gotta win in 30 seconds. I personally like that drill, but I can't play it if it's not 2K Camera. Later we can do that Vertical drills and Gatorade stuff and those are drills which I really love

Rewards are terrible, we have Gym Rat badge and some bonuses which are very low. I don't like attribute upgrading system (buying it with VC). I think it is better idea to play better if you practice more, just like in real life (I won't talk about starting in NBA with 55 overall, we all know that's shit). Oh yeah, we also have some tasks like 5 dunks, dunk on each basket blah blah. I finished all tasks (according to OS) and all I got was 100 VC. What's the point?

Another thing I wanna mention is that this year coach is really idiotic. He talks like an idiot + his eyes are too wide and hair too shiny. Last year's coach was much much better. Oh yeah, and this year Head Coach can't talk, he just walks like an idiot and whistles, what the hell?

And for the end I really want to mention. My first basketball game was NBA Live 8, but I wasn't playing it so much. First basketball game which I really played was NBA Live 9 on PS3. There was an amazing gym, it looked good, had 2 courts with less people, so you can shoot like normally. Why didn't 2K did same thing? Here is it, on 1:50. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojMtdKZi67c

Yeah I love the idea of live practice and I think ultimately they did a great job for the first implementation.. I only wish they would let me change the camera angle.. Doesn't seem like it should be a big deal but hey I'm not on the dev team..

You also can't post up.

I like it and it's a great starting point if they choose to improve it. I would like to have a drill menu you can do with other players or with assistants, so you can practice post moves, playing 1-on-1, or any other scenario you want, and swapping to defending, or just having fun with the drills like Boston, etc. It shouldn't just be a part of the game that somehow simulates real practices, but it should be an always available feature where you can practice playing the game and improving. Almost like the FIFA drills if anyone is familiar with those.

By the way, you don't have to start with 55, as you can upgrade anything you want (although not much without purchasing) before you get to the NBA. I was 72 I believe when I got drafted.
