Issues with Avast family of antivirus products

Hi folks,

We are investigating reports of users seeing invisible players, primarily on the PC version of the game. If you are experiencing this, the following MAY help to resolve the issue:

1) Navigate to your NBA 2K16 userdata folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\xxxxxxxx\370240\local (where 'xxxxxxxx' is an 8 digit random number).
2) Delete your SYNC.BIN file.
3) If you are running an anti-virus scanning program, ensure that your "local' folder in step 1 above has been whitelisted (or you can disable it entirely at your own risk). The game's folder under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\NBA 2K16" should be whitelisted as well.
4) Reboot the game and allow it to idle for some time as updates are re-downloaded; don't dismiss the dialog (this may take some time if the connection between our servers and you is not optimal).

In addition to the invisible players, if you are seeing a crash a very specific point in the game (such as on boot), this MAY help you as well.

If you are still seeing invisible players after performing the following steps, please reach out to customer service.

Avira and AVG used to be a lot better. But they've given in to bloatware and advertising, at least in the free versions.

I had Harrison Barnes as invisible player,they i deleted that sync.bin, and he was visible,then next time i enter the game Hassan Whiteside was invisble,then i deleted again sync.bin and he appeared :mrgreen:

i think mine's crashing because of microsoft security. it didn't used to but after the last hot fix it just got stuck in the start up screen and i'd notice that my anti-virus keeps turning off.

Go to settings and exclude NBA 2K16 folder from being analyzed and check if it works. I haven't noticed any issue so far with Win Defender & Win10.

thanks! the game was actually working fine the first time i ran the game post hot fix.
