MyCareer is an absolute chore.

Talk about NBA 2K16 here.

MyCareer is an absolute chore.

This post has nothing to do with Spike Lee and his pathetic storyline. We've all agreed that his storyline is a total joke.

I'm talking about how hard it is to play this game. I've played it on Starter to Hall of Fame level and it's near impossible to score, beat your man off the dribble, pass without turning the ball over, etc. I'm a veteran of 23 years of bball games (every single game since Lakers v Celtics on PC) and this is just not fun. I can't do anything whatsoever. Never mind when I was a 55 player. Now that I'm an 80 player (maxed out athleticism, defense, half-full jump shooting, one quarter ball handling, empty rebounding, inside scoring), it is STILL impossible. I'm averaging 20% FG shooting, 5 turnovers a game. I dread every game, which is why I have only played a total of 10 games in Season 2. After the first 3 turnovers in a row, I don't even care and just wander around the court half-heartedly hoping the game would end quickly.

I don't admit to being the best video gamer out there but I find it damn near impossible to score or pass in this game unless I'm on Starter level. And then, it feels like a total cheat cause every bad release just goes in. I had a blast in 2k15. MyCareer 2k16 is just not fun for me anymore. With that SOB Spike Lee's storyline, there is no longer a storyline after Season 2 and I find no reason to continue playing except to grind for VC. And I can do that playing MyPark. Anyone else feel the same way?

I'm playing on All-Star mode, and currently averaging over 20 points & 8 assists a game as a PG. I agree that outside shooting is harder, but i've had no issues with making passes to people in the right positions. Are you playing with coach plays set to run automatically? I've found that helps me.

Seriously? 12 min quarters or 6? On HOF, there is no way I can get past my defender, even with multiple picks. And because my offensive options are so limited (zero inside scoring, 70 rated shooting), I can't score even with limited defense in my face. They're giving me about 9 minutes of playing time per game (6 min quarters) and I usually end up with a C average.

Yesterday, I gave into the dark side and looked up youtube videos about the best shooting releases. That seemed to help a lot. Which I think is ridiculous because your shooting style should have no bearing on the fg %, only the rating and your own release should factor in. Choosing a "wet" shooting release adds about 15% to your shooting %.

I'll give that a shot. What's your shooting rating? On All Star through HOF, defenders jump passing lanes WAAAY too quickly. I also notice that a lot of times, your target fades into the background running away from your pass. Am I passing incorrectly? Am I accidentally leading my pass instead of passing to where the guy currently is?

I imagine some releases would be easier to nail the timing on.

Even more if we talk about free throw releases.

Too bad, because I usually choose my animations based on how I play in real life. (spin move, crossover, shooting style, etc.) So now, we have to decide if we really want a mini-me or an optimized player built to play online.

Pretty much. I mean, some moves and styles are going to be more effective than others: quicker crossovers, textbook shooting form, and so on. I imagine everything can be mastered and put to use, but some have an easier learning curve than others.

In Hall of Fame, opponents will playe like Hall of Famers: system will make them clever than you, also you and your teammates will make more mistakes. If its too hard, drop difficult to Allstar. You cant avoid turnovers, just try to keep it low as possible. My Career point guard now has 4 TO per game LOL (1st in League) because i tend to past 1st and some cheese from the game also. For shoot release, learn the form you use, remember where is the point of release when you can make most of the shots, a shot will be easy if you mastered it. If you want to play more then increase the time of quarters to 10 or 12, for minutes distribution of your team, if you wont play well (increase stats: more pts, more assist, etc) your minutes will stay the same for whatever your overall is.
